Important Travel Advice

With up to 35,000 football fans expected, ticketholders are urged to plan ahead and to consider all the available travel options ahead of time. Match tickets include travel on all public transport so leave the car at home.   

Transport  

  • Travel on all modes of public transport is included in your ticket to the game, simply show your ticket to transport staff when boarding services.  
  • Trains and metro services run regularly to the city where you can connect with frequent light rail services to Moore Park. Plenty of regular route buses also make stops along Anzac Parade and Oxford Street nearby.  
  • Additional light rail services will run before and after the match. The Moore Park light rail stop is located a short walk across from the stadium.  
  • Make a day of it and plan to arrive early, gates open at 12.30pm and there are plenty of local venues to enjoy pre or post-game. 
  • Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to avoid the queues for transport services before and after the match. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

Driving 

  • If you must drive, carpool with your group and arrive early to secure parking. Grass car parks on Driver Avenue will open from 11am and parking is available at the Entertainment Quarter 24 hours a day. Limited parking will also be available at Sydney Boys and Sydney Girls high schools, and at Moore Park Golf Course. Flat rate parking fees apply.  
  • Special event clearway parking restrictions will be in place around the stadium, making street parking very limited. Check signs carefully when parking to avoid being towed. 
  • Expect delays on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to the match. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
  • If you are getting dropped off or picked up, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop-offs, and Errol Flynn Boulevard for pick-ups. Additionally, use Moore Park Road from 80m west of Oatley Road to 75m east of Oatley Road (northern side).To avoid traffic delays, consider other locations further away and then walking to the stadium. 

Valid pre-purchased tickets to The Rugby Championship: Wallabies v Argentina at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 13 September include travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

Tickets to The Rugby Championship: Wallabies v Argentina at Allianz Stadium on Saturday 13 September include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park.

The closest stations to Allianz Stadium are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 13 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Inner West trains will not run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Granville.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards the City.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. From 4am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Trains run between Liverpool and Schofields, some to a changed timetable.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills. Trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, and make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 30 minutes later than the normal timetable. Bathurst trains run to the normal timetable between Bathurst and Strathfield. Some late night or early morning trains start from Strathfield or run around the City Circle.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
  • South Coast Line: From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City.

A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium. 

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.  

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of Allianz Stadium.

Additional light rail services will run before and after the game. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. Consider using alternative transport between Central Station and Moore Park, including walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) or regular bus services, as light rail services will be very busy. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of Allianz Stadium.

Consider parking at a station near you and continuing your trip to Moore Park on public transport to avoid traffic delays. 

Changed traffic conditions

  • Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 10:30am and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.
  • No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas will be maintained from Lang Road. Grass car parks open from 11am.

The closest taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard (near the Hordern Pavilion).

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations.

A designated drop-off/pick-up location will also be available on Moore Park Road from 80m west of Oatley Road to 75m east of Oatley Road (northern side). 

After the game, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. Select a pick-up location away from the stadium.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space.

  • Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
  • Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park (limited capacity due to upgrade works): Open from 11am. Entry via the northern end of Driver Ave from Moore Park Road. 
  • Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 11am. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
  • Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 11am. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from Allianz Stadium. 
  • Moore Park Golf Course: flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 10am or 11am to 6pm on sections of Albion Street, Fitzroy Street, Lang Road and Moore Park Road, and from 6am to 7pm on Cleveland Street.  

From 6am to 7pm

  • Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
  • Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 

From 10am to 6pm

  • Moore Park Road from approx. 80m west of Oatley Road to approx. 75m east of Oatley Road (northern side) (for drop off/ pick up zone)   

From 11am to 6pm

  • Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
  • Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 
  • Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side) 
  • Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side) 

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
