Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

The closest station to the stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. The stadium is a short walk from the station.   

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual as fans travel to and from the match during the busy evening peak. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions livetraffic.com.  

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

Planned Trackwork – Saturday 17 and Sunday 18 January 

  • Metro services do not run on the entire line between Tallawong and Sydenham.   
  • Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.   
  • Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham. 
  • For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. 

Change at Epping or Central to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford.

The closest station to polytec Stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. From the station, the stadium is a short walk away via Showground Road and Dane Drive. 

Trackwork 

There are service changes taking place on Saturday 17 January on the following lines which may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • M1 Metro Line: Metro services do not run on the entire line between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern
  • T1 North Shore Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel. 
  • T1 Western Line: Direct trains do not run between T1 Western Line stations and the City. Buses replace trains between Emu Plains and St Marys, and between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains run to a changed timetable between St Marys and Leppington; Richmond and Liverpool; and Olympic Park and the City. Change at Parramatta for buses towards Olympic Park, then trains from Olympic Park to the City, or change at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport. 
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Direct trains do not run between T2 Leppington Line stations and the City. Buses replace trains between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and St Marys; Liverpool and Richmond; and Olympic Park and the City. Change at Glenfield for trains to the City via the Airport, or change at Parramatta for buses towards Olympic Park, then trains from Olympic Park to the City.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Direct trains do not run between T3 Liverpool Line stations and the City. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park or Parramatta. Change at Lidcombe for buses to Olympic Park, then trains from Olympic Park to the City, or change at Cabramatta for trains towards Leppington or T1 Western Line stations. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Liverpool, and between St Marys and Leppington. Some late night and early morning trains run between Richmond and Leppington.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Bankstown and Lidcombe, every 30 minutes. Change at Lidcombe for buses to Olympic Park or Parramatta. Trains run between Olympic Park and the City, and between Parramatta and Leppington or T1 Western Line stations.
  • T7 Olympic Park Line: Buses replace trains between Olympic Park and Lidcombe, with some continuing to Parramatta. Trains run between Olympic Park and the City.
  • T9 Northern Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Springwood and St Marys. Express buses also run between Springwood and Strathfield due to T1 Western Line trackwork between Parramatta and Olympic Park. Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Springwood, to a changed timetable. T1 Western Line trains run between St Marys and Leppington, and between Olympic Park and the City. If travelling to Lithgow to connect with NSW TrainLink Regional Coaches call 132 232 to confirm departure times.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel. 
  • South Coast Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.

Route buses 19, 21, 22, 23, 64 and 67 run towards Central Coast Stadium and stop near the stadium.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

At Central, change for a train service on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Gosford.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

At Central, change for a train service on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Gosford.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Epping or Central to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford.    

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to and from the stadium, particularly during the busy evening peak. Allow extra travel time and use local parking.  

Dane Drive will be closed from 4.45pm between the Central Coast Highway and Donnison Street and will reopen once crowds have cleared the area.

  • Free parking is available 300m away at Gosford Train Station (P2).
