Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

The closest station to the stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. The stadium is a short walk from the station.   

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual as fans travel to and from the match during the busy evening peak. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions livetraffic.com.  

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Please note that most Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run to/from Strathfield only. Change at Epping to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford. 

Additional late night metro services will run on Saturday 28 February through to first service on Sunday 1 March.

The closest station to polytec Stadium is Gosford on the Central Coast & Newcastle Line. From the station, the stadium is a short walk away via Showground Road and Dane Drive. 

Please note that if you're travelling from Sydney, most Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run to/from Strathfield only.

Trackwork 

There are service changes taking place on Saturday 28 February on the following lines which may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Richmond and Fairfield, change at Parramatta for trains towards the City; and between Penrith and the City, making extra stops at Flemington and Burwood. Daily from 5pm to 1am, some Penrith trains make extra stops at Olympic Park.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via the Airport, and between Fairfield and Richmond. Change at Parramatta for trains to the City via Granville. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. From 9.40pm Saturday to 3am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City, to a changed timetable.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable and frequency. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Glenfield, and between Fairfield and Schofields or Richmond. From 9.40pm Saturday to 3am Sunday, buses also replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at: Lidcombe for T1 trains towards the City or Parramatta; Regents Park for T3 buses towards Liverpool; or at Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. T8 trains continue to run between Sydenham and the City Circle, some to a changed timetable. From 9.40pm Saturday to 3am Sunday, buses replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City, to a changed timetable.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Use T1 Western Line trains between Blacktown and the City. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run 30 minutes later than the normal timetable.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey.
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Glenfield and the City via the Airport, to a changed timetable. From 9.40pm Saturday to 3am Sunday, buses replace trains between Moss Vale and East Hills. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between East Hills and the City via the Airport.

Route buses 19, 21, 22, 23, 64 and 67 run towards Central Coast Stadium and stop near the stadium.

Newcastle Line

Newcastle Light Rail services run from 5am to 1am daily between Newcastle Interchange in Wickham and Pacific Park in Newcastle East. With six convenient stops, it’s easy to get around Newcastle’s city centre and connect with train, bus and ferry services.  

Catch a light rail service to Newcastle Interchange and change for a train to Gosford, where the stadium is within short walking distance.   

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Please note that most Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run to/from Strathfield only. Catch a train to Strathfield or metro to Epping to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Please note that most Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run to/from Strathfield only. Catch a train to Strathfield or metro to Epping to connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Epping connect with Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains to Gosford.   

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium as fans travel to and from the stadium. Allow extra travel time and use local parking.  

Dane Drive will be closed from 3.30pm between the Central Coast Highway and Donnison Street and will reopen once crowds have cleared the area.

  • Baker Street Car Park (P1) is approximately 100m away.  
  • Free parking is available 300m away at Gosford Train Station (P2).
