Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.
Trains run regularly to Wollongong on the South Coast Line, and the stadium is only a short walk away.
Please note that due to planned trackwork, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Central or Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. Buses do not run to the train timetable. If connecting with trains at Wollongong you may need to catch an earlier bus to ensure you meet your train connection. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the Wollongong CBD and on local roads around WIN Stadium as fans travel to and from the match. Local roads around the stadium may close to help crowds move safely around the area. Plan to arrive early and allow extra travel time. Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
Change at Central to connect with South Coast Line services to Wollongong.

The closest station to WIN Stadium is Wollongong on the South Coast Line.
The venue is approximately 15 minutes’ walk from the station via Burelli Street. Alternatively, you can catch the free Gong Shuttle from Crown Street, which stops near the stadium.

Trackwork
Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 6 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T9 Northern Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains make extra stops at Ashfield.
- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Central or Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. Buses do not run to the train timetable. If connecting with trains at Wollongong you may need to catch an earlier bus to ensure you meet your train connection
- Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 4.50pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and the City via the Airport.

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of WIN Stadium, including routes 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39, 90 and 92.
A number of regular bus routes make stops along Corrimal Street and Burelli Street to get you within walking distance of WIN Stadium.
You can also catch a 'Free Gong Shuttle' (routes 55A and 55C) that operates regularly on weekdays and the weekend. The shuttle runs in both directions on a loop from Wollongong Station to Wollongong University via Wollongong Hospital, Burelli Street and the Innovation Campus.
Hours of operation are:
- Weekdays: 7am to 6pm every 10 minutes, 6pm to 10pm every 20 minutes
- Saturdays: 9am to 5.20pm every 20 minutes
- Sundays & Public Holidays: 9.40am to 5.20pm up to 20 minute frequency

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
From Central, change for a South Coast Line train to Wollongong.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly, plan your trip using Trip Planner.
From Central, change for a South Coast Line train to Wollongong.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train service from Parramatta Station to Redfern or Central where you can connect with South Coast Line rail replacement bus services to Wollongong.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.
