Welcome to Beatlesfest Bathurst, Australia's only Beatles festival!

It's a vibrant, family friendly, multi-venue festival dedicated to celebrating the music and legacy of The Beatles in the beautiful city of Bathurst, NSW. Join thousands of fans and music lovers for an unforgettable weekend of live performances, Beatles activities and family fun. Heaps of free events with ticketed shows scattered throughout so you can choose your own adventure!

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

The closest station to Beatlesfest is Bathurst Railway Station. Regular Intercity services run between Sydney Central and Bathurst. These are OPAL services and do not require bookings. 

Additional services have been added to the regular timetable to provide more options for people travelling home from this event:

  • Saturday - additional train departing Bathurst Station at 00:15 (Sunday morning) to Lithgow
  • Sunday - additional train departing Bathurst Station at 00:15 (Monday morning) to Lithgow

NSW TrainLink has 2 fully accessible coaches running temporary, free turn-up-and-go services daily between Bathurst and Katoomba from 7am. 

These free services will travel in both directions and stop at Katoomba, Blackheath, Mt Victoria, Zig Zag, Lithgow and Bathurst train stations.

Motorists attending Beatlesfest from Sydney or the Blue Mountains should be aware of the closure of Victoria Pass on the Great Western Highway. A detour is in place via Darling Causeway and Chifley Road. Motorists using this detour are advised to allow extra travel time. If you are travelling during peak periods (Monday to Thursday 8.30 - 10am, and 2 – 3.30pm; and Friday 8.30am – 3.30pm), you may need to allow up to an hour of additional travel time.
