More travel choices for regional communities

Regional Cities around NSW are set to benefit from with an upgrade to bus networks that will see hundreds of additional weekly bus services and more travel choices from mid-July.

As part of Transport for NSW’s 16 Regional Cities Services Improvement program, Port Macquarie, Griffith, Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo and Parkes will each see additional or extended services roll out on their bus networks.

Each of the locations will receive a variety of new weekday and weekend services throughout all times of the day, supporting connectivity to employment, education, business and retail trading hours. This will allow many people more flexibility to conduct their weekly activities through the day and when they are out later in the evening or don’t have access to a car.

The new services have been implemented to support people studying, working, attending appointments and going about their daily tasks

The six new cities receiving service uplifts will join Wagga Wagga, who received more than 240 additional services in March this year, and the Tweed where 450 additional weekly services were introduced bus network in December last year.
