Planned trackwork on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April

On Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 April, trackwork across Metro, Sydney Trains and Light Rail services will affect how you travel in and around the City. 

Plan ahead and allow extra travel time. 

  • Metro services do not run between Chatswood and Sydenham. More info.
  • Services run between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
  • Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line train trackwork may also affect how you travel

T1 Western Line 

  • Buses replace trains between Penrith, Richmond and Granville. More info.
  • Trains run to a changed timetable between Granville and the City.
  • Buses also run between some T1 Western Line stations and Tallawong. Frequent metro services run between Tallawong and the City.
  • Sunday from 2pm to 8pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Parramatta and the City. Buses continue to run between Penrith, Richmond and Granville.
  • Blue Mountains Line trains start and end at Penrith.

 

T4 Eastern Suburbs and Illawarra Line

  • Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction, but do not stop at Martin Place. More info.
  • Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Waterfall and the City Circle, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
  • Change at:
    • Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff
    • Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction.
       

South Coast Line

  • Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and Hurstville only. More info.
  • Change at
    • Hurstville for T4 trains towards the City
    • Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff
    • Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction.


T5 Cumberland Line

  • Buses replace trains between Richmond and Granville. More info.
  • T2 trains run to the normal timetable between Leppington and the City.

On Saturday 18 to Sunday 19 April, L1 Dulwich Hill, L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines will be impacted by closures due to planned trackwork and maintenance works.

During this time: 

L1 Dulwich Hill line

  • L1 light rail services will not run.
  • Use alternative transport including L1 replacement bus services, regular bus services or walking if able to, between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill.

L2 and L3 light rail services 

  • L2 and L3 services will not run between Circular Quay and Central Chalmers Street.
  • Use alternative transport including trains, regular bus services or walking if able to, between Circular Quay and Central.
  • L2 and L3 light rail services will continue running between Central and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford as per normal schedule.
