Timetable changes from Sunday 19 April

From Sunday 19 April, minor timetable adjustments will be made to some train services. These adjustments are being introduced as part of a regular review of train services to improve reliability for passengers.

Changes by line:

Weekday 

The following weekday services from Emu Plains to Central will depart one minute earlier from Emu Plains at the following times:

5.17pm and 7.17pm

Nine weekday evening services from Central to Penrith/ Emu Plains will arrive one minute later at some stations between Werrington and Emu Plains. 

The weekday 4.55am service from North Sydney to Hornsby via Strathfield service will depart North Sydney from Platform 1 instead of Platform 3.

Weekend 

The weekend 3.58am service from Penrith to Central will now depart from Penrith Platform 2 instead of Platform 3. 

Weekday

Adjustments will be made to 12 weekday services and two weekend on the Blue Mountains Line to improve reliability.    

The weekday 3pm service from Central to Bathurst will depart Rydal four minutes earlier at 5.47pm. 

The weekday 3.09pm service from Central to Lithgow will arrive five minutes earlier at the following stations and times:  

  • Bell at 5.38pm
  • Zigzag at 5.53pm  
  • Lithgow at 5.59pm  

The weekday 5.26pm service from Central to Mount Victoria will depart Central one minute earlier at 5.25pm.

The weekday 5.42pm service from Central to Bathurst will depart Tarana one minute earlier at 8.49pm.  

An additional eight weekday services will depart one to two minutes later at stations between Bathurst and Penrith and at Central.

Weekend

Two weekend services will depart one to two minutes later at stations between Bathurst and Bell. 

Some weekday services departing from Newcastle Interchange will depart from a different platform.

Timing adjustments will be made to six  weekday services. These weekday services will now terminate or commence their journey at Central, no longer operating through the Eastern Suburbs railway corridor to Town Hall and Martin Place. 

Weekday

The following weekday services previously terminated at Martin Place and will now terminate at Central (platforms 1 to 14): 

  • 2.39am from Kiama
  • 3.54am from Kiama
  • 4.37am from Kiama

South Coast Line passengers travelling to Town Hall and Martin Place will be required to interchange at Central for T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line services. 

These services will now depart Redfern from platform 1 instead of platform 11 and will arrive at Central on the following platforms: 

  • 2.39am at platform 8
  • 3.54am at platform 13
  • 4.37am at platform 14

The following weekday services from Martin Place to Kiama and/or Wollongong will now commence service from Central instead of Martin Place:   

  • 5.57am to Kiama
  • 6.48am to Wollongong
  • 7.18am to Kiama 

Passengers that previously boarded these services at Martin Place and Town Hall will be required to catch T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line services to Central and interchange at Central for South Coast Line services. Passengers at Town Hall have the option of utilising T1 North Shore, T2 Leppington & Inner West, T3 Liverpool & Inner West, T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and T8 Airport & South Line services to Central.

The weekday 5.57am service to Kiama and 6:48am service to Wollongong will depart Central and Redfern between one to three minutes earlier and from different platforms: 

From Central 

  • 6am from platform 8 (instead of 6.03am from platform 25)
  • 6.52am from platform 13 (instead of 6.54am from platform 25) 

From Redfern 

6.03am from platform 2 

6.55am from platform 2 

The weekday 7.18am service to Kiama will now depart Central one minute earlier at 7.23am from platform 14. This service will depart Redfern from platform 2 instead of platform 12. 

The weekday 3.54pm service from Central to Kiama will depart 2 minutes earlier at the following stations: 

  • Wollongong at 5.32pm
  • Coniston at 5.34pm
  • Unanderra at 5.39pm
  • Dapto at 5.45pm instead
  • Albion Park at 5.53pm
  • Oak Flats at 5.56pm
  • Shellharbour Junction at 6pm
  • Minnamurra at 6.04pm
  • Bombo at 6.09pm 

This service will arrive at Kiama at 6.12pm. 

Some weekday services departing from Newcastle Interchange will depart from a different platform.

Minor adjustments will be made to some services on the North Coast, Southern and Western lines. Passengers are encouraged to check services times and book their trip at NSW TrainLink bookings.
