Tweed bus changes from Monday 29 June
From Monday 29 June, we'll be making some changes to bus services in the Tweed. These improvements will support better access to Tweed Valley Hospital, improve cross-border connectivity at Tweed Mall and provide bus services for new housing growth in Kings Forest.
The below routes will have timetable and/or route changes. Plan your trip for real time, up to date information.
Routes affected:
- 600 - Banora Point to Tweed Heads West via Tweed Mall & Coolangatta
- 601 - Kings Forest to Tweed Heads via Tweed Valley Hospital
- 603 - Pottsville to Tweed Mall via Tweed Valley Hospital
- 605 - Murwillumbah to Tweed Mall via Banora Point
- 606 - Fingal Head and Tweed City Shops to Tweed Mall via Keith Compton Dr
- 609 - Murwillumbah to Kingscliff via Tweed Valley Hospital
- S168 - Bilambil PS to Tweed City Shopping Centre via Tweed Heads
Changes by route
New timetable. Minor retiming of services across the week, including for Tweed Valley Community Care.
- New timetable and minor route path change.
- 8 additional services per week, including additional weekday evening services to better suit shift times at Tweed Valley Hospital.
- Extended from Tweed Valley Hospital to Kings Forest.
- Kings Forest residents have a new way to access TAFE NSW Kingscliff campus.
- A change in Kingscliff town will see route 601 service Sutherland Street.
Every second route 601 service will terminate at Tweed City Shopping Centre. Passengers wanting to continue travel to Tweed Mall can take select route 601 services or change to other bus services at Tweed City Shopping Centre (routes 600, 603, 605, 606).
- New timetable and route path change.
- 8 additional services per week.
- All services extended between Tweed City Shopping Centre and Tweed Mall.
- A change in Kingscliff town will see route 603 service Moss Street and Marine Parade.
Tweed City Shopping Centre will be serviced on Minjungbal Drive.
- New timetable and route path change.
- Doubling of service frequency from every 2 hours to every hour, and an additional 111 services per week.
605 services will no longer travel via Keith Compton Drive and will instead stay on Wharf Street. Keith Compton Drive area will instead be serviced by route 606 services. Route 606 will service Florence Street, Powell Street, Solander Street, Banks Avenue, Keith Compton Drive and Brett Street. Alternatively passengers have the option to walk to Wharf Street to access more frequent bus services, including route 605.

- Services to/from Fingal Head extended between Tweed Mall and Tweed City Shopping Centre, with 46 additional services per week.
Fingal Head and Banora Point passengers can access Tweed City Shopping Centre from Minjungbal Drive. All other route 606 services will enter the Tweed City Shopping Centre carpark for the start and end of services.
- New timetable and route path change.
- New weekend and evening services with access to Tweed Valley Hospital.
All services extended beyond Tweed Valley Hospital to Kingscliff shops at Pearl Street.
- Minor change to Bilambil Public School afternoon pick up, from 3.10pm to 3.15pm.
No other changes and no transfers impacted.
