There are many apps available designed to assist a person in getting around as safely and efficiently as possible.

It is worth noting that most public transport specific applications are designed to incorporate all forms of public transport to help streamline the process.

Below are some available transport applications that are available to assist those with a disability to travel safely and confidently. All the applications mentioned below are available on IOS and Android.

AnyTrip

AnyTrip allows the user to track public transport vehicles around their location.

A live map enables the user to get the most up to date information on the location of the local services.

The app will also inform the user of upcoming departures at designated stops and stations.

Citymapper

Citymapper is a multimodal application that features all public transport options.

Citymapper allows for users to track real-time information on the location of public transport vehicles at surrounding stations and find the fastest route using multiple modes of transport.

NextThere

NextThere allows the user to gain access to information regarding public service options in their surrounding location.

The application can show the user the most efficient way to get to their destination.

Moovit

Moovit uses real-time data to give the user the fastest route, announces stops along the way and alerts when your stop is approaching. Users can interact and send active reports about their travel experience, such as availability of seats, cleanliness and more.

Moovit is great for visually impaired as it provides audio announcements when the selected stop is approaching and displays a countdown of stops along the route.

TripView

TripView creates trip plans for different public transport modes with accessibility in mind. As a result, the app has real time tracking information of the desired services, and using GPS technology, can alert the user when their desired stop is approaching.

For a small fee, Tripview enables the user to save trips that they have created, allowing for quick and easy access to information that will help the user complete their daily commute.
