Routes

North West Night Bus services run on two routes, providing a connection between metro stations.

NW1 route

All stops:
Chatswood, North Ryde, Macquarie Park, Macquarie University, Epping, Cherrybrook, Castle Hill, Hills Showground, Norwest, Bella Vista, Kellyville, Rouse Hill and Tallawong

NW2 route

Limited stops:
Chatswood, North Ryde, Cherrybrook, Castle Hill, Hills Showground, Norwest, Bella Vista, Kellyville, Rouse Hill and Tallawong

Service reliability may vary depending on stopping patterns and the time of day. Real-time data will be available for these services in the Trip Planner and real time transport apps.

North West Night buses are part of the Opal network and you will be able to pay your fare with an Opal card. Fares will be the same as existing metro/train fares and all Opal card benefits apply.

Transferring between a train and a North West Night Bus will be considered the same as transferring between metro/train services. Transferring between a regular bus service and a North West Night Bus will be counted as a transfer between different transport modes, and the Opal transfer discount will apply.

Opal single trip tickets

If you’ve bought an Opal single trip ticket for travel between Tallawong and Chatswood, you’ll be able to use it when changing between trains and North West Night Bus services. This means you can tap on and tap off with the same single trip ticket when you transfer between a train and a North West Night Bus.

You cannot use the same single trip ticket to transfer to a regular bus.

Opal top up and ticket machines

Opal top up machines will not be available at Macquarie University, Macquarie Park and North Ryde metro stations while they are closed Sunday to Wednesday nights.

You can top up online, via the Opal Travel app or visit a nearby retailer.
