Travel on public transport to and from the Illawarra Big Red Kidney Walk is covered for participants and volunteers on the following public transport services – remember to show your ‘event ID’ to Transport staff when boarding services:
- Outer Metro buses in the Illawarra – Premier Illawarra, Premier Charters and Dion’s Services only
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
Note: an additional station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. Your travel pass does not include the access fee, so if you're travelling from these stations you'll need to pay the train station access fee
The closest station to Coalclifff Surf Life Saving Club is Coalcliff Station. Coalcliff Beach is approximately a 15 minute walk (850m) from the station.
Trackwork is taking place between 02:00 Saturday 20 October through to 02:00 Monday 22 October and may affect how you travel to and from Olympic Park:
- T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and North Sydney via Gordon.
To note: Since Sunday 30 September, the Epping to Chatswood rail line has temporarily closed for upgrades for around 7 months before Sydney Metro Northwest services begin in 2019. The new high-frequency bus service, Station Link, will replace trains between Epping and Chatswood. For more information on Station Link, visit transportnsw.info.

The closest bus stops to the beach are located on Paterson Rd or Lawrence Hargrave Dr.

Very limited parking is available at the Coalcliff Beach Car Park and is expected to fill early so allow extra travel time. Nearby street parking is also available.
