Important event information

The Royal Edinburgh Military Tattoo will be performing various shows at ANZ Stadium on Thursday and Friday evening plus two shows on Saturday.

Olympic Park will be busy on Friday night with other events being held in the precinct at the same time. Attendees are encouraged to catch public transport as travel on trains is included in your event ticket and extra services will run. Details below.

Valid pre-purchased match tickets include travel to and from ANZ Stadium at Olympic Park on Sydney Trains (bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations) and Sydney Metro Services.

Remember to keep your ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on public transport until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start running from the early morning. Change at Epping to connect with train services towards Olympic Park.

Last services from Chatswood to Tallawong leave at 12.45am on Thursday nights and at 1.45am on Friday and Saturday nights.

The closest station to ANZ Stadium is Olympic Park.

Additional train services will be running to help you get to and from the event:

Thursday 17 and Friday 18 October

  • From Central: express services will run every 30 minutes from 5pm until 12:30am, stopping at Strathfield, Redfern then Olympic Park.
  • From Epping: An additional service will leave Epping at 6:13pm, stopping all stations to Olympic Park via Homebush.
  • Direct trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park run every 10 minutes until 12:30am each night.

Saturday 19 October

  • From Central: Additional services will run every 30 minutes between Central and Olympic Park from 9am and 3pm,  then every 20 minutes between 3:20pm and 12:30am stopping at Strathfield and Redfern.
  • Direct trains between Lidcombe and Olympic Park run every 10 minutes until 12:30am.

Trackwork

Weeknight trackwork is taking place on Thursday 17 October and may affect how you travel to and from the event:

  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line and South Coast Line: Form 21:30 until 01:30 buses replace trains between Bondi Junction and Central.

Weekend trackwork is taking place from 02:00 Saturday 19 October until 02:00 Monday 21 October and may affect how you travel to and from the event:

  • T3 Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run between Liverpool and Sydenham or Bankstown and Sydenham only, some to a changed timetable. Buses also replace trains between Lidcombe and Bankstown. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla and Sydenham, Waterfall and Hurstville, and Central and Bondi Junction. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. 
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Waterfall and Central.

The following Sydney Buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Burwood via Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Route 526 runs from the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.
  • Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

    Sydney Ferries services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

    ANZ Stadium is approximately 40 minutes walk (3.6km) from Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the stadium.

    Light rail services run between Central Station and Dulwich Hill with stops at popular CBD and Inner West destinations. Change at Central for express trains to Olympic Park.

    The nearest Taxi Rank to ANZ Stadium is Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel.

    Heavy traffic is expected on roads as large crowds travel to Sydney Olympic Park, particularly during evening peak. Motorists travelling to the event should allow extra travel time on the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Silverwater Rd, Ryde Rd, Lane Cove Rd and Epping Rd.
