Important travel advice

Ticketholders are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

When catching public transport, plan ahead, allow extra time and sit or stand on the green dots. You can also check real-time capacity indicators when planning your trip or boarding services.

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe, the arena is a short walk from the station.

Remember it’s mandatory to wear a face mask when travelling on public transport, and you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling to and from the event. Register your details via the Opal website or app ahead of time.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and consider pre-booking your parking online available until 11:59pm the night before the event. Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct so allow extra travel time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Additional measures and staff will be in place around Sydney Olympic Park to safely manage crowds arriving and leaving the event so please be patient, practise physical distancing while in queues and follow the directions of staff on site.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with trains towards Olympic Park.

From Lidcombe head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Trackwork

Trackwork is taking place from 10pm Friday 10 December until 2am Monday 13 December on the following lines which may affect how you travel to and from the event:

  • T1 North Shore Line: On Saturday from 6pm trains run between Lindfield and North Sydney, or Berowra and Central only. Trackwork between Central and Lidcombe may affect how you travel.
  • T1 Western Line: From 6pm Saturday trains run between Penrith and Olympic Park only. Change at Lidcombe to continue your journey. Buses run from Lidcombe to Strathfield, and Strathfield to Central, in that direction only. Limited stop and all-stations trains continue to run from the City to Lidcombe via Strathfield, in that direction only. From 2am until 6pm trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and the City, making extra stops at Homebush, Burwood, Croydon and Ashfield. Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park
  • T2 Inner West & South Line: On Saturday from 6pm trains run between Leppington and Olympic Park only. Change at Lidcombe to continue your journey. Buses run from Lidcombe to Strathfield, and Strathfield to Central, in that direction only. Limited stop and all-stations trains continue to run from the City to Lidcombe via Strathfield, in that direction only. From 2am until 6pm, the all stations Homebush trains will not run. Leppington trains run between Leppington and Strathfield only, making an extra stop at Homebush.
  • T3 Bankstown Line: On Saturday from 6pm extra trains run between Lidcombe and the City via Sydenham, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern.
  • T7 Olympic Park Line: On Saturday from 6pm trains run to a changed timetable between Olympic Park and Lidcombe then continue to Penrith or Leppington.
  • T9 Northern Line: On Saturday from 6pm trains run between Hornsby and Ashfield only. Buses run from Strathfield and Ashfield towards Central, in that direction only. Buses run from Strathfield and Ashfield towards Central, in that direction only. Limited stop and all-stations trains continue to run from the City to Strathfield, in that direction only. From 2am until 6pm, trains run to ai changed timetable and make extra stops at Ashfield, then all stations to Redfern.
  • Blue Mountains Line: On Saturday from 6pm, trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Buses replace trains from Strathfield to Central, in that direction only. Limited stop trains continue to run from the City to Strathfield, in that direction only.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: On Saturday from 6pm, trains run to a changed timetable via the T1 NorthShore Line. Buses replace trains from Strathfield to Central, in that direction only. Limited stop trains continue to run from the City to Strathfield, in that direction only.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Strathfield via Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Route 526 runs from the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.
  • Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the Arena or alternatively it is approximately a 40 minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park but services are popular and may reach capacity, so allow extra travel time and consider the alternative public transport options available.

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Change at Central for train services to Lidcombe to connect with shuttle trains to Olympic Park.

Due to light rail vehicle repairs, buses are replacing all light rail services on the L1 Dulwich Hill Line between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill until further notice. Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park including the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road as attendees travel to and from the game.
