Important Travel Advice

Footy fans are encouraged to plan their trip and to consider all of the public transport options available ahead of time to avoid the heavy traffic. Match tickets include travel on public transport.  

Trains run to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and Accor Stadium is a short walk from the station. Some express and limited stop event trains will run from Central and Liverpool to help you get there

Please note: Due to Planned Industrial Action this weekend, some train lines will run to a reduced frequency and services may be crowded. Allow extra travel time.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.

Traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct as fans travel to and from the match. Ticketholders should consider leaving the car at home and catching public transport to avoid delays. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Match Ticket Entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2024 Canterbury Bulldogs finals series games at Accor Stadium includes travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services. Just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

Tickets to 2024 Canterbury Bulldogs finals series games at Accor Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Real-time parking availability allows you to see how many vacant car park spaces are available at Transport Park&Ride car parks.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. 

Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Accor Stadium is Olympic Park.

Additional express and limited stop trains will run to help you get to and from the game:

  • From Central leaving every 20 minutes from 1.40pm until kick off, stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park.
  • From Liverpool: Two special event trains will leave Liverpool at 2:05pm and 2.24pm, stopping all stations to Granville, then Auburn, Lidcombe and Olympic Park.
  • From Olympic Park back to Central: trains will leave every 10 minutes from full-time until 8pm, stopping at Strathfield, Redfern then Central.
  • Trains also run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running regularly until late.

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Sunday 15 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

  • T1 North Shore Line:  Trains run to a reduced frequency and make extra stops between Hornsby and the City. Frequent metro services run between Chatswood and the City. T9 Northern Line trains run between Berowra and the City Circle via Strathfield.
  • T1 Western Line: Trains run to a reduced frequency and make extra stops between Penrith or Richmond and the City. Trains may be crowded and you should allow extra travel time. Frequent metro services run between Tallawong and the City.
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Inner West trains will not run. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Granville, to a reduced frequency and stop at all stations. Trains may be crowded and you should allow extra travel time. Buses also replace T8 Airport & South Line trains between Macarthur and East Hills.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Trains run to a reduced frequency and make extra stops between Cronulla or Waterfall and Bondi Junction. Trains may be crowded and you should allow extra travel time. Frequent metro services run between Sydenham and the City.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Liverpool or Richmond and the City. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
  • T7 Olympic Park Line: Trains may run between Olympic Park and Lidcombe to a reduced frequency. Trains may be crowded and you should allow extra travel time.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills. Trains run to a reduced frequency and stop at all stations between East Hills and the City via the Airport. Trains may be crowded and you should allow extra travel time.
  • T9 Northern Line:  Trains run between Berowra or Epping and the City Circle via Strathfield, to a reduced frequency and changed stopping pattern. Frequent metro services run between Epping and the City. Trains may be crowded and you may need to change trains to continue your journey. 
  • South Coast Line: On Sunday from 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 02:39 Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 14 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.  
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills. You may need to change buses to continue your journey.

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington (this route no longer runs to or from Strathfield, if you are travelling from Strathfield catch a 526 buses instead).  
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde. 

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will NOT be running for this game.

Bus Diversions

Route 525 and 526 services will be diverting from 1.30am until 11pm on Sunday 15 September due to road closures within Sydney Olympic Park.

Services in both directions will be diverting via Edwin Flack Ave, Sarah Durack Ave and Australia Ave, and will miss stops on Dawn Fraser Ave and Park St. Catch these services from the stop on Park St at Olympic Park train station or other alternative stop locations on Edwin Flack Ave. Check signs at stops for details.

The closest wharf to Accor Stadium is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf. 

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here (pdf 77KB).

L1 Dulwich Hill Line 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park as fans travel to and from the precinct. Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

Consider catching public transport or parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park to avoid traffic delays. Match tickets include travel on public transport.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.

Road Closures

From 1.30am on Sunday 15 September to 11pm Sunday 15 September 

  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Showground Road to Edwin Flack Avenue 
  • Olympic Boulevard from Herb Elliott Avenue to Kevin Coombs Avenue 
  • Murray Rose Avenue from Showground Road to Gate 15 
  • Grand Parade from Australia Avenue to Olympic Boulevard 
  • Showground Road from Grand Parade to Dawn Fraser Avenue 

From 11.30am on Sunday 15 September to 11pm Sunday 15 September 

  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Showground Road to Park Street 
  • Showground Road from Dawn Fraser Avenue to Noveotel Loading Dock
  • Murray Rose Avenue from Park Street to Gate 15

The nearest Taxi Rank is on Herb Elliott Avenue at Park Street.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Sydney Olympic Car Parks

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the game. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.

Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train. Match tickets include travel on public transport.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

Traffic delays are expected after the game as fans leave the precinct.  

Train Station Commuter Parking 

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then continuing your journey by train to Olympic Park. 

  • T1 Western Line: Seveen Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith. 
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Leppington and Edmonson Park. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
