Important Travel Advice

Concertgoers are urged to plan ahead as Sydney Olympic Park will be very busy as multiple events take place in the Park throughout the day, including the Bledisloe Cup at neighbouring Accor Stadium from 2pm. Parkway Drive ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home and catch transport – extra train services will be running. 

Express trains to Olympic Park and regular services to Lidcombe will run frequently before and after the show to get you there and home again. Use the Trip Planner or download the free Opal Travel app to plan your trip. 

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, it’s essential that you pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time as delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct and entering carparks.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. 

Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.  

Please note that planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 21 September, with buses replacing metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood. Metro services run between Chatswood, the City and Sydenham only.  

Change at Central for express and regular trains to Olympic Park. Alternatively, catch a rail replacement bus to Epping and change for a train to Strathfield to connect with services towards Olympic Park. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trackwork

Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday21 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • Metro North West & Bankstown Line: Buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood. Metro services run between Chatswood, the City and Sydenham only. T9 Northern and Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run to the normal timetable between Epping and Central.
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Buses also replace T8 Airport & South Line trains between Glenfield and Sydenham. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Granville or Regents Park. Inner West trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, or between Homebush and the City.
  • T3 Bankstown Line from Saturday 21 to Sunday 29 September: Buses replace trains between Lidcombe, Bankstown and Campsie. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, and between Campsie and the City, some to a changed timetable.     • If travelling between the City and Birrong, Yagoona or Bankstown, catch a train to Lidcombe, then change for a bus.
    • If travelling between the City and Berala, Regents Park, Sefton, Chester Hill, Leightonfield, Villawood or Carramar, catch a direct train.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Schofields or Richmond.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Sydenham. Change at Sydenham for train or metro services to the City, or change at Wolli Creek for trains to the Airport. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Granville or Regents Park, and between Turrella and the City Circle via the Airport.
  • South Coast Line: From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Waterfall and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Helensburgh and Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 2.

Regular Route Buses

The following Sydney Buses run to Olympic Park:  

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington   
  • Route 526 runs between Burwood and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.   
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.  

Bus Diversions

Route 525, 526, 533 and N81 services will be diverting from 7pm Friday 20 September until 11.30pm Saturday 21 September due to road closures within Sydney Olympic Park. Stops on Dawn Fraser Avenue will be missed. Catch services from stops on Park Street at Olympic Park train station or other alternative stop locations on Edwin Flack Avenue. Check signs at stops for details.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for express or regular trains to Olympic Park.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for express or regular trains to Olympic Park.

With multiple events taking place in the precinct, including the Bledisloe Cup at neighbouring Accor Stadium, a combined crowd of up to 100,000 expected in Sydney Olympic Park across the day. Significant delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct, so Parkway Drive ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home and catch public transport – extra train services will be running.  

  • If you must drive, spots are expected to sell out in advance, it is essential that you pre-book parking online to guarantee a car space. A flat rate $35 parking fee applies.  
  • Alternatively, consider parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park. You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when using services. 

If you have pre-booked parking, carpool with your group, expect significant delays and allow plenty of additional travel time on the M4 Motorway, Homebush Bay Drive, Concord Road, Silverwater Road, Ryde Road, Lane Cove Road and Epping Road. 

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

Sydney Olympic Park Authority will close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit the Sydney Olympic Park interactive map for more details.

If you're getting dropped off/picked up or catching rideshare and taxis:

  • The nearest Taxi Rank to Accor Stadium is at Herb Elliott Avenue at Park Street. 
  • Remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the area before and after the show.   
  • After the show, demand for Taxis and rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed by considering catching a train or bus outside of the precinct to connect with your ride faster.

Sydney Olympic Park Car Parks

Ticketholders must pre-book parking online to secure a space. Parking in the precinct is limited and is expected to sell out before the event.  

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space, a flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

If you have not pre-booked a space, do not drive – there will be no casual parking available in the precinct.  

Consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing the trip to Olympic Park by train as frequent additional services will run. 

Be aware that after the event, traffic will be very heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour additional travel time exiting car parks or avoid the delays by staying in the precinct and enjoying many of the venues that will stay open after the event. 

Train Station Commuter Parking

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Olympic Park.

Stations with large car parks on the that require one interchange by train to get to Olympic Park include:

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith.
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
