Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. 

Catch trains or metro to Sydenham or Bankstown to connect with fare free Southwest Link bus routes SW1 and SW2 running regularly to Belmore. The venue is a short walk from the station down Burwood Road and Leylands Parade. 

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual on as fans travel to and from the match. Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Sydenham for a Southwest Link bus to Belmore Station.  

  • SW1 all-stops: Bankstown, then all stations to Sydenham and return.  

  • SW2 limited stops: Bankstown, Punchbowl, Wiley Park, Lakemba, Belmore, then express to Sydenham and return.

The closest station to Belmore Sports Ground is Belmore. Please note that Belmore Station is currently closed while the T3 Line is upgraded to metro standards. You will need to catch a Southwest Link bus to complete your journey to Belmore Station.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Sunday 16 March on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • City Circle: Trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum. Some trains may start or end at Central, run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay and Central. 
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City Circle via Granville, and between Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12, via Regents Park. from 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Regents Park. 
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 5.30am to 9.40am, trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Regents Park. Inner West trains run between Homebush and the City. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Trackwork on the T8 Line may affect how you travel. If travelling to the Airport change at Central or Sydenham for a bus, not Wolli Creek. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Most trains run between Schofields and Liverpool, to the normal timetable. From 5.30am to 9.40am, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Regents Park, and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. From 9.40am to 11.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and the City via Granville, and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and may leave earlier than normal. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield, Sydenham and Central via the Airport. Trains run to a changed timetable between; Macarthur and the City via Granville, Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12, via Regents Park and Sydenham and the City. Change at Central for trains to T4 or South Coast Line stations, not Wolli Creek.

Southwest Link buses

Regular route buses  

A number of regular bus services make stops within walking distance of Belmore Sports Ground, including routes 415, 487, 490 and 942. 

Punchbowl Bus Company also run services in the area to get you to the Sports Ground.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line 

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, catch a train or Metro service to Sydenham and connect with a Southwest Link bus to Belmore Station to get within walking distance of the sports ground.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, catch a train or Metro service to Sydenham and connect with a Southwest Link bus to Belmore Station to get within walking distance of the sports ground. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and catch a train to Lidcombe from Parramatta Station where you can connect with a Southwest Link bus to Belmore Station to get within walking distance of the sports ground. 

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Belmore Sports Ground as fans travel to the match. Allow extra travel time on roads including Canterbury Road, Burwood Road, Leylands Parade, Edison Street, Palmer Street and Thorncraft Parade as crowds travel to and from the game.

Some local roads may close to ensure pedestrian safety before, during and after the game.
