Important Event Information

Participants are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

The Event Village is accessible from all sides of Centennial Park with the gates on the northern side of the park (Paddington, Woollahra, York Road and Jervois Avenue) being the closest to the Village. View the Course Map for more details.

Catch light rail services or buses from the city to get to Centennial Park. 

A free shuttle bus service will be available to transport participants from Sydney CBD to Centennial Parklands. The bus will drop participants off on Oxford St at the Paddington Gates. For more details, see the event transportation map.

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, some changed traffic and access restrictions will be in place inside Centennial Park for safety reasons while the event takes place. 

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the area so allow some extra travel time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central where you can connect with light rail services to Moore Park to get within walking distance of Centennial Park. 

Please note that from 9.20pm, metro services will run to a reduced frequency, every 20 minutes. Allow extra travel time when travelling home from the event.

The closest train station to Centennial Park is Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Royal Randwick or Moore Park stops leaving from Chalmers Street to get within walking distance of Centennial Park.

From Bondi Junction, Centennial Park is a 10-minute walk via Grafton Street and Oxford Street. Alternatively, you can change for a regular route bus to Oxford Street at the Interchange.

Trackwork

Weeknight trackwork is taking place on Wednesday 22 October and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:  

  • M1 Metro Line: From 9.20pm, metro services will run to a reduced frequency, every 20 minutes. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.50pm to 2.30am, buses replace trains between Sutherland and Hurstville. Trains run between Waterfall or Cronulla and Sutherland, and between Hurstville and Bondi Junction, to a changed timetable. South Coast Line trains continue to run between Sutherland and Hurstville. Metro services run to a reduced frequency. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey 
  • Hunter Line: From 8am to 1pm, buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Telarah or Muswellbrook. The 08:29 Newcastle Interchange to Dungog will not run. Catch the 08:48 Newcastle Interchange to Telarah train and change at Maitland for a bus towards Dungog. Buses also replace the 10:02 Dungog to Newcastle Interchange service. 
  • South Coast Line: From 11pm to 2.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Sutherland and Hurstville.

Regular Route Buses

A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops within walking distance of Centennial Park.

The closest stops to the Park are on Oxford Street near Lang Road or York Street

  • From the City, you can catch a route 333 bus that makes stops along Elizabeth Street, Park Street and Oxford Street. 
  • From the Inner West, you can catch a route 352, 355 or 440 bus that makes stops along City Road, Parramatta Road, Enmore Road, Norton Street, Cleveland Street and Oxford Street. 
  • From Bondi Junction, you can walk or catch a route 352, 355 or 440 bus that makes stops along Oxford Street. 

Event Shuttle Buses

Free event shuttle buses will run between 4.45pm and 6pm every 10 to 15 minutes from the Sydney CBD to Centennial Park for J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge participants with a race bib. Buses will drop participants off on Oxford Street, which is a short walk through the Paddington Gates and into Centennial Park. For more information visit the J.P. Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay where you can change for a Route 333 bus to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the Event Village.

Alternatively, catch an L2 Line light rail service to Royal Randwick to connect with an event shuttle bus on Alison Road to get to the Event Village.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central Chalmers Street, change for an L2 light rail service to Royal Randwick where you can connect with a free event shuttle bus to the Event Village.  

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly, plan your trip using Trip Planner

Catch an L2 light rail service to Royal Randwick where you can connect with a free event shuttle bus to the Event Village.  

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 Line service to Royal Randwick where you can connect with a free event shuttle bus to the Event Village

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

There will be some changed traffic and access restrictions in Centennial Park for safety reasons. The Park’s gates will be closed to all public vehicles from 1pm on the day for the event.  

Public vehicles may remain in the Park but must leave prior to the event through the Randwick exit gates, which will remain open until 5pm.

Drop-Off Locations 

  • Designated drop-off zones will be available at Centennial Park – Grand Drive east of Parkes Drive from 11am to 6pm. Access into the park will be via Robertson and Randwick gates.   

Pick-Up Zones 

  • Driver Avenue near the SCG/Allianz Stadium, access via Moore Park Road only. Follow directions of staff on site. 

The closest paid parking option to the Event Village is at the Entertainment Quarter (Wilson Parking)* – entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road.

A free shuttle service will run from the car park directly into Centennial Park from 5pm to 6pm, and back again after the race concludes from 8.15pm to 10pm. For more information visit Centennial Parklands – Parking.
