Important Travel Advice

Ticketholders are encouraged to leave the car at home and consider the public transport to avoid getting caught in weeknight peak traffic delays. 

  • Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. Additional services will run to Olympic Park for the shows each night
  • You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
  • Evening trackwork: Please note train and light rail trackwork in the City may affect how you travel home in the evening. From 9.40pm to 1.30am, Trains will not run between Central and Wynyard, or on the City Circle. From 9pm L2 and L3 light rail services will not run on the entire line between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford or Randwick, buses will replace services instead. Allow extra travel time and plan ahead.
  • If you need to drive, pre-book parking to guarantee a car space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event. Carpool with your group and allow extra travel time. Delays are expected as attendees travel in the busy evening peak
  • If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Allow plenty of extra travel time on roads and plan your trip before leaving home. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
  • After the show, traffic will be heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks
  • You can also consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park
  • If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare, taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until 12.30am.

To help you get to the show, the following additional trains will run:

  • Leaving Blacktown at 5.34pm – stopping at Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • Leaving Liverpool at 5.45pm – stopping at Cabramatta, Fairfield, Granville, Lidcombe then Olympic Park

Trackwork

Trackwork is taking place on Monday 1 and Tuesday 2 December on the following lines and may affect how you travel. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • City Circle: Nightly from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. L2 and L3 light rail services do not run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford or Randwick. Buses replace trains and light rail services in one direction only. From Central, buses stop Museum, St James, Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central. For travel around the City use metro services between Central, Martin Place and Gadigal (Town Hall), or use replacement buses to other City stations. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. L2 and L3 light rail services do not run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford or Randwick. Buses replace City Circle trains and light rail services in one direction only. From Central, buses stop Museum, St James, Circular Quay, Wynard, Town Hall and Central. Use metro services between Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross and the City, or change at Wynyard for replacement buses to other City stations. T1 Western and T9 Northern Line trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-14 
  • T1 Western Line: Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-14 only, making extra stops at some stations between Parramatta and Burwood.  
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Nightly from 9.20pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Olympic Park. T1 trains make extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood. Some T9 trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Nightly from 9.20pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. T1 trains make extra stops at Flemington, Homebush and Burwood. Some T9 trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel.  
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Nightly from 9.40pm to 2.30am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction. Some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: On Tuesday from 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Nightly from 9.50pm to 1.30am, trains via the Airport start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.  
  • T9 Northern Line: Nightly from 10pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-14 only. Some trains make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.  
  • Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park but services are popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you're planning on catching a F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

Please note that L2/L3 light rail services will not operate from 9pm due to planned trackwork. Buses replace L2 and L3 services between Central Chalmers Street and Juniors Kingsford or Randwick, also from 9.40pm trains do not run on the City Circle or between Wynyard and Central. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Ticketholders should consider public transport options available to avoid lengthy delays and the high demand for parking. Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to each concert in the already busy weeknight peaks.   

If you have to drive, travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.  

Pre-book your parking ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the show unless sold out prior.

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road. If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.

Changed traffic conditions

Sydney Olympic Park Authority may close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit Sydney Olympic Park Authority and check out the interactive map.

The nearest Taxi Rank is Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Olympic Park car parks

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct during busy weeknight peaks.

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking.

Train Station commuter parking 

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching a train to Olympic Park. 

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith. 
  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.  

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
