Important Travel Advice
Sydney Olympic Park will be busy with thousands of fans attending Good Things along with a concert at nearby Qudos Bank Arena.
Attendees are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid getting caught in traffic delays.
- Travel on trains, metro and light rail is included in your event ticket, simply show your ticket to staff when boarding services.
- Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. Additional services will run to Olympic Park for the event.
- You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
- If you need to drive, pre-book parking to guarantee a car space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event. Carpool with your group and allow extra travel time.
- If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Allow plenty of extra travel time on roads and plan your trip before leaving home. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
- After the show, traffic will be heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks
- You can also consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park
- If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare, taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue.
Event Ticket Entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to the Good Things Festival 2025 on Saturday 6 December at Sydney Showground include travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
Tickets to Good Things Festival 2025 on Saturday 6 December at Sydney Showground include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.
If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
Change at Epping or Central to connect with train services towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.
Trackwork: Saturday 6 & Sunday 7 December
- Metro services run between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
- Use trains between Chatswood or Epping, the City and Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern

The closest station to Sydney Showground is Olympic Park.
Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.
To help you get to and from the event, the following additional services will run:
Getting there
- From Central: express services will run from Central every 15-minutes from 11am until 8pm – stopping at Redfern, Strathfield the Olympic Park.
- From Central Coast and Newcastle line stations: An additional service will depart Newcastle Interchange at 4.27pm - stopping at all stations to Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy, Hornsby, Epping, Strathfield then Central.
Getting home
- To Central: trains will leave Olympic Park every 15 minutes until 1am - stopping at Stratfield, Redfern and Central
- To Central Coast and Newcastle line stations: additional trains will leave Central at 11:18pm and 12.18am stopping at Strathfield, Epping, Hornsby, Woy Woy, Gosford, Tuggerah, Wyong, Warnervale, Morisset, then all stations to Newcastle Interchange.
- To Hunter line stations: additional trains will depart Newcastle Interchange at 2.18am and 2.50am stopping all stations to Maitland
Trackwork
Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Saturday 6 December on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 North West & Bankstown Line: Metro services run between Tallawong and Chatswood only. Use trains between Chatswood or Epping, the City and Sydenham. - T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Fairfield. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. Penrith trains make extra stops at Flemington and Burwood.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via the Airport, and between Fairfield and Richmond. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City via Granville. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. From 9.40pm to 2am, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City, to a changed timetable.
- T3 Liverpool and Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable and frequency. Inner West trains run between Homebush or Ashfield and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Buses also replace trains between Macarthur, Liverpool and Fairfield and T6 trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Waterfall and North Sydney, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Metro services do not run between Sydenham and Chatswood. Change at: Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place station. Saturday from 4am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and North Sydney.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Glenfield, and between Fairfield and Schofields or Richmond. From 9.40pm to 2am, buses also replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at: Lidcombe for T1 trains towards the City or Parramatta, Regents Park for T3 buses towards Cabramatta or Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. T8 trains between Sydenham and the City Circle do not run. T4 trains run between Sydenham and North Sydney, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. From 9.40pm to 2am, buses also replace trains between Leppington and East Hills. Trains run between East Hills and the City, to a changed timetable.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Saturday from 5.30am to 11am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2. From 7am to 11.30am, trains towards Hornsby do not stop at Cowan. Buses run from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, in that direction only. Change at Hawkesbury River for a bus to Cowan. From Cowan, catch a bus to Berowra then change for a train to continue your journey. Trains towards Gosford continue to stop at Cowan.
- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle. Change at: Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place. Metro services do not run between Sydenham and Chatswood. From 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and North Sydney.
- Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 trains run to a changed timetable between Glenfield and the City via the Airport. From 9.40pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Moss Vale and East Hills. T8 trains run between East Hills and the City via the Airport.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:
- Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.
- Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.
- Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Sydney Showground is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.
F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. F3 Parramatta River ferries may be affected by low tide between Parramatta and Rydalmere and replaced by buses. Check for updates here.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park as attendees travel to and from the event alongside other events taking place in the precinct. Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.
If you have to drive, carpool with your group pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.
To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.
Road Closures

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply
If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.
Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct.
