Important Travel Advice
Sydney Olympic Park will be very busy Saturday evening while the AFC Women’s Asian Cup Grand Final kicks off from 8pm at neighbouring Stadium Australia. AFL ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home to avoid extensive delays leaving the match.
Transport
- Public transport is the best way to get to Olympic Park – match tickets include travel on transport services.
- Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. Additional express trains will be running from the city to Olympic Park and return.
- Please note that due to planned weekend trackwork, Metro services will not run on the entire line. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. Use trains between Epping or Chatswood and Sydenham.

- Note: Easter Show infrastructure and fencing will be in place. Follow directions and signage as walking routes around the precinct have changed.
Driving
- Parking will sell out in advance, so it is essential that you pre-book parking online to guarantee a car space if you need to drive. An event flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.
- Note that P5 and P6 car parks will be closed due to Easter Show infrastructure.
- Parking will be in high demand with thousands of football fans also travelling to the precinct for the AFC Women’s Asia Cup final at neighbouring Stadium Australia.
- If you have pre-booked parking, follow directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. After the game, traffic will be very heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks.
- Consider parking at a nearby commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.
- Carpool with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time as traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct and entering car park. Significant delays are also expected after the match as football fans make their way into the precinct for the AFC Women’s Asia Cup Grand Final at Stadium Australia. - If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare, taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue.
Match ticket entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to the 2026 GWS Giants AFL season at ENGIE Stadium include travel to and from Olympic Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
- Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
- Sydney and Newcastle Ferries
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
Tickets to 2026 GWS Giants AFL season at ENGIE Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Planned Trackwork – Saturday 21 to Sunday 22 March
- Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham.
- Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
- For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
- Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Trackwork
Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 21 March on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham
- T1 North Shore Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 Western and T2 Leppington trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes
- T9 Northern Line: Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 5.30am to 10:30am, at Hawkesbury River and Cowan, all trains leave from platform 2. From 7am to 10.30am, trains towards Hornsby do not stop at Cowan. Buses run from Hawkesbury River to Cowan, and from Cowan to Berowra, in that direction only. Change at Hawkesbury River for a bus to Cowan. From Cowan, catch a bus to Berowra then change for a train to continue your journey. Trains towards Gosford continue to stop at Cowan. Sydney Metro trackwork may affect how you travel.

Regular route buses
The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:
- Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.
- Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.
- Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.
Bus Diversions

The closest wharf to ENGIE Stadium is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.
F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Attendees are urged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. If you need to drive it is essential that you pre-book parking in advance.
Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive, Centenary Dr, Silverwater Rd and Concord Road.
- If you have to drive, carpool with your group pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. Note P5 and P6 car parks will not be open due to Easter Show infrastructure.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the game.
When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout.
Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour to exit car parks.

- T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith.
- T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
