During the summer holidays including Christmas and New Year, transport services including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail will run to a changed timetable. Some services will run to weekend timetables on weekdays and other services, including those to major events, beaches and shopping centres, will run more frequently. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.
Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with trains to Central.
The closest station to Royal Randwick Racecourse is Central. Change at Central for Light rail services to Randwick leaving from Chalmers Street.
Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill. L2 Randwick Line services run between Central Station (Chalmers Street) and Randwick
Catch a light rail service to Royal Randwick on the new L2 Randwick Line. The Royal Randwick stop is located along Alison Road across from the racecourse.
Regular services run every 10 to 15 minutes throughout the day.
Keep in mind that light rail services on both lines will be busy as various other events are taking place including a cricket match at the SCG in Moore Park and Randwick Races at Royal Randwick on Saturday.
Taxis may enter and exit the Royal Randwick Racecourse via Oaks Drive (entry off Ascot Street from the Doncaster Avenue roundabout). Taxis are not allowed to stop on Alison Road. For details of taxi networks servicing the Sydney area visit NSW Taxi Council.
Limited car parking may be available at the infield car park and entry is off High Street. Members Private Reserved Parking is off the Abbottsford entry. Members Reserved Parking in the Infield is on the Eastern side of the road. Patrons must display their “members car park permit” at all times.
