Important travel advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. 

The best way to get to PointsBet Stadium is by public transport. Tickets to Sharks home games at PointsBet Stadium include travel on trains and free shuttle buses will run from Caringbah, Woolooware and Cronulla stations.

Trains run regularly to Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line, which is within walking distance of PointsBet Stadium. Station shuttle buses will also run to the stadium from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware stations.

Remember, it’s mandatory to wear a face mask on public transport.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual, you can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Match ticket entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to Cronulla Sharks 2022 season home games at PointsBet Stadium include travel to and from Woolooware on trains including: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink services (bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations).

Just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services.

For travel on buses, ferries, metro and light rail services you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method, see below for more information.

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping for trains to Central to connect with T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains to Woolooware.

The closest station to PointsBet Stadium (Shark Park) is Woolooware on the T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line. The station is a short 15-minute walk from the stadium.

Shuttle buses will pick up from Caringbah, Woolooware and Cronulla train stations from the time gates open and run in a loop to get you to PoinstBet Stadium until kick off. After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from outside the stadium approximately 10 minutes before full time and continue for an hour after the final whistle. 

Trackwork

Weeknight trackwork is taking place from 2am Saturday 28 May until 2am Monday 30 May and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:

  • T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between Emu Plains and Blacktown. Trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond, Blacktown and the City. From 1am until 6am, trains run between Blacktown and Ashfield only, making extra stops at Flemington and Homebush. Buses replace all trains between Ashfield and Central.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Daily from 6.30am until 12.15pm, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Some trains start or end at Hurstville or Sutherland. You may need to change trains to continue your journey.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: On Saturday from 8.40am until 3pm, buses replace the all-stations trains between Wolli Creek and Revesby. Express trains continue to run but will not stop at stations between Padstow and Turrella.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Bathurst and Blacktown. T1 Western Line trains run between Blacktown and the City. These trains do not run to the Blue Mountains Line train timetable. If you are travelling to Lithgow to connect with NSW TrainLink Regional Coaches, please call 132 232 to confirm departure times. Buses replace the 01:17am Katoomba to Mount Victoria service.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only, some to a changed timetable.
  • South Coast Line: Daily from 6.30am until 12.15pm, some trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops between Sutherland and Hurstville.

Regular bus services

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of the stadium including routes 985, 969, 971 and 978. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip by bus.

Station shuttle buses

Shuttle buses will run in a loop from Caringbah, Cronulla and Woolooware train stations from before the game to get you to PoinstBet Stadium.

After the game, return shuttle buses will leave from the bus bay on Captain Cook Drive near the stadium entrance. For more information, visit the Cronulla Sharks website.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a train to Central to connect with T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains to Woolooware.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill line light rail services run every 15 minutes between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Fridays. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Road closures will be in place on Captain Cook Drive from approximately 10 minutes before kick off and 30 minutes after full time. Allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium.

Supporters travelling by taxi or ride share services may be dropped off in the bus bay located directly in front of PointsBet Stadium, on Captain Cook Drive. Gannons Road and Woolooware Road are recommended post-game pick-up points.
