Important travel advice

Fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Travel on public transport to and from Moore Park is included in your ticket to the game.

Light rail services run regularly to Moore Park from the City and South East. The Moore Park stop is a short walk across from the SCG. Remember, it's mandatory to wear a face mask on public transport. 

If you have to drive, travel with your group, plan ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time. Parking is available near the SCG at the Entertainment Quarter car park, grass car parks on Driver Avenue and Sydney Boys & Girls High car park off Cleveland Street.

Traffic in the area is expected to be busier than usual and parking will be in high demand. Allow plenty of extra travel time. You can find real-time traffic conditions at

Please note traffic around the Eastern Suburbs is expected to be heavy due to road closures and thousands of people travelling for the City2Surf on Sunday 14 August. If you’re travelling by car from the Eastern Suburbs to the game plan ahead and allow plenty of additional travel time.

Valid pre-purchased tickets to Sydney Swans 2022 season home games at the Sydney Cricket Ground includes travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink services (bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney Buses 
  • Sydney Metro North West services
  • Sydney Light Rail services
  • Sydney Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping for connections to Central where you can catch a light rail service to Moore Park.

Please note, on Sunday from 10pm until 1.30am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central catch a light rail service to Moore Park. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See our Moore Park transport map (pdf 898KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.


Weekend trackwork is taking place from 2am Saturday 13 August until 2am Monday 15 August and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:

  • Metro North West Line: On Sunday from 10pm until 1:30am, buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood.
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Homebush trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. Extra trains also run between Ashfield and the City, continuing to Kingsgrove via the Airport. 
  • T3 Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Cabramatta, Lidcombe and Sydenham. Trains run between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, stopping all stations to Lidcombe. Some early morning buses extend to Liverpool.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Daily from 8am until 8pm, extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Extra trains run between Kingsgrove and the City via the Airport, continuing to Ashfield.

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. A number of regular Sydney Buses services stop along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339 and 374. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road which is within short walking distance of the stadium.

Shuttle buses between Central and Moore Park will not run for this match, catch frequent light rail services or regular buses instead.

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay and change for a light rail service to Moore Park on the L2 and L3 lines.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill line light rail services run every 15 minutes between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Fridays. 

From Central change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

If you’re driving, travel with your group and allow extra time as traffic will be heavier than usual. Fans are encouraged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid the traffic delays.

Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 10.30am and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area. No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop off areas maintained from Lang Road.

To support the Moore Park Road pop up cycleway, there is no left-turn permitted from Lang Road onto Moore Park Road westbound. Motorists can use Cook Road for access onto Moore Park Road instead.

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations. After the game, there will be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. You’ll need to select a pick up location away from the stadium.


Parking will be available at the following car parks near the stadium:

  • Entertainment Quarter (parking rates apply): Open 24 hours. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road.
  • Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park: Car park open from TBC. Entry via northern end of Driver Avenue from Moore Park Road.
  • Showground Field (EP3) grass car park (cashless, flat rate parking fees apply): Car park open from 12.15pm. Entry via the southern end of Driver Avenue, from Lang Road. 
  • Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School (parking fees apply): Car park open from 12.15pm. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in effect on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 1pm until 8pm on sections of Lang Road, Fitzroy Street, Moore Park Road, Albion Street, Cleveland Street, Flinders Street and Foveaux Street.

Clearways are strict no-parking zones, and apply even to local residents or Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs before parking as vehicles left in special event clearways will be towed and a towing fee applies. Visit Live Traffic NSW to see the locations of special event clearways.
