Basketball fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Trains run regularly to Wollongong on the South Coast Line, which is within walking distance of WIN Entertainment Centre.

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with train services to the city for trains to Wollongong.

The closest station to WIN Entertainment Centre is Wollongong on the South Coast Line. 

The venue is approximately 15 minutes' walk from the station via Burelli Street. Alternatively, you can catch the free Gong Shuttle from Crown Street which stops near the stadium.


Weeknight trackwork is taking place on Monday 5 December on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:

  • City Circle: from 9.40pm until 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Town Hall. Some City Circle trains run to a changed timetable and leave from different platforms.
  • T1 North Shore Line: from 9.20pm until 2.30am, buses replace Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains between Hornsby and Berowra. T1 North Shore Line trains continue to run between Hornsby and Berowra until last service, then buses replace all trains.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: from 9.50pm until 2am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville
  • T8 Airport & South Line: from 9.40pm until 1.30am, some trains start or end at Central. Some trains continue to run around the City Circle, to a changed timetable.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: from 9.20pm until 2.30am, buses replace trains from Hornsby to Gosford. From 10.10pm until 1am, buses replace trains from Gosford to Hornsby. Trains run between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford, and between Hornsby and Central, some to a changed timetable
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace some trains between Kiama and Bomaderry between 2:39am and 4:05am

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of WIN Entertainment Centre, including routes 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39, 90 and 92.

A number of regular bus routes make stops along Corrimal Street and Burelli Street to get you within walking distance of WIN Entertainment Centre.

You can also catch a 'Free Gong Shuttle' (routes 55A and 55C) that operates regularly on weekdays and the weekend. The shuttle runs in both directions on a loop from Wollongong Station to Wollongong University via Wollongong Hospital, Burelli Street and the Innovation Campus. L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Fridays. Use the Trip Planner to plan your trip.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Traffic may be heavier than normal in the area on roads approaching Wollongong CBD and on local roads around WIN Entertainment Centre as fans travel to the event so allow additional travel time.

Fans travelling to the game on the freeway are encouraged to use the Masters Road exit to avoid congestion at Mount Ousley Road, both in and out of Wollongong.
