Important Travel Advice

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station.

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, travel with your group and pre-book your parking online, available until 11:59pm the night before the event.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct, especially for the Friday night show in the busy evening peak. Allow plenty of extra travel time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. For Friday's show, change at Epping to connect with trains to Strathfield then Olympic Park.

Please note on Saturday, due to trackwork on the T9 Northern Line, you will need to change at Epping for a replacement bus to Strathfield to connect with trains towards Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Friday 9 June

  • T3 Bankstown Line: From 12:20am to 2am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Trains run between the City Circle and Bankstown only. Extra trains run between Lidcombe and Liverpool via Regents Park, stopping at all stations.
  • Blue Mountains Line: From 11pm to 2am, some trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and North Sydney or the City Circle, some to a changed timetable.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace the following trains from Hornsby to Gosford or Wyong. Catch a T1 North Shore Line train to Hornsby then change for a bus.
    • 11:47pm Central to Newcastle Interchange service from Hornsby to Gosford. Train runs to a changed timetable from Gosford to Newcastle Interchange.
    • 12:47am Central to Wyong service from Hornsby to Wyong.

Long weekend from 2am Saturday 10 June to 2am Tuesday 13 June:

  • City Circle: On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, trains will not run on the City Circle. Use buses or light rail instead. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby. Trains run between Hornsby and the City, to a changed timetable. On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Wynyard only. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle.
  • T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run between Richmond and Olympic Park only. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City. On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Wynyard. Penrith trains run between Penrith and Strathfield only, to a changed timetable. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle.
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, buses replace trains between Ashfield and Central. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Ashfield via Granville.
  • T3 Bankstown Line: On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, buses replace trains between Sydenham and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool or Lidcombe and Sydenham only. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla or Waterfall and Sydenham, and between Central and Bondi Junction only. Buses replace all trains between Sydenham and Central. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: On Saturday and Sunday from 4:30am to 5am, trains start and end at Central due to City Circle trackwork. Buses replace all trains on the City Circle.
  • T9 Northern Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Strathfield and the City, and between Hornsby and the City via the T1 North Shore Line. On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, buses also replace trains between Strathfield and Wynyard. Trackwork also affects trains on the City Circle. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: Until 10pm Monday, most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only, some to a changed timetable. Bathurst trains start and end at Strathfield. On Saturday and Sunday from 4:30am to 6.40am, some trains to Blue Mountains Line stations start from Strathfield. Buses replace some trains from Central to Strathfield.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Hornsby. T1 North Shore Line trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and the City. Buses also replace T9 Northern Line trains between Hornsby and Strathfield. On Saturday and Sunday from 4am to 6am, T1 North Shore Line trains run between Hornsby and Wynyard only. Buses replace trains between Wynyard and Strathfield.
  • Hunter Line: Buses replace trains between Scone or Dungog and Newcastle Interchange.
  • South Coast Line: On Saturday and Sunday from 4:30am to 6am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Hurstville only. Buses replace all trains between Sydenham and Central. 
  • Southern Highlands Line: On Saturday from 10am to 4pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Strathfield via Sydney Olympic Park.
  • Route 526 runs from the Sydney Olympic Park Ferry Wharf to Olympic Park.
  • Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

Buses may be affected by local road closures in the precinct, allow extra travel time and check signs at stops.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park but services are very popular and will be busier than usual during Vivid Sydney from Friday 26 May until Saturday 17 June. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Grand Concourse and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Fridays, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe to connect with shuttle trains to Olympic Park.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Please note, due to road closures for Vivid Sydney, L2 and L3 Light rail services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay after 6pm on Friday and after 5pm on weekends.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Sydney Olympic Park including the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road as attendees travel to and from the show, especially during the busy Friday evening peak.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads may be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event.

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the stadium to avoid delays.

There is no designated rideshare pick up location in the precinct. Demand for rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed when leaving and choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the venue.

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching a train to Olympic Park.
