Important Event Information

More than 10,000 people are expected to attend the annual 51st NSW Aboriginal Rugby League Koori Knockout 2023 at the Central Coast Regional Sporting & Recreation Complex in Tuggerah from Friday to Monday.

Trains to Tuggerah Station run regularly and the venue is a short 10 minute walk via Lake Rd.

Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual on roads approaching the venue so fans are encouraged to allow extra travel time and carpool where possible.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you head you travel to avoid queues at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start running from the early morning. Change at Chatswood or Epping for a Central Coast & Newcastle Line train to Tuggerah.

The closest station to the Central Coast Regional Sporting & Recreation Complex on Lake Rd is Tuggerah on the Central Coast and Newcastle Line.

  • Services run roughly every 30 minutes from Sydney to Tuggerah.
  • Servies run roughly every hour from Newcastle to Tuggerah

From there take the Bryant Dr station exit and the venue is a short 10 minute walk via Lake Rd. See the station map (pdf 227KB) for more details.

Selected trains between Sydney and Wyong will be built up to 8-carriages between 7am and 6pm.

Friday 29 September

  • T5 Cumberland Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable.

Weekend – 2am Saturday 30 September to 2am Monday 2 October 

  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Inner West trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park. From 6:30am to 10:40am Saturday, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park.
  • T3 Bankstown Line: from Monday 25 September to Thursday 5 October buses replace trains between Lidcombe and Sydenham. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Regents Park, and between Sydenham and the City Circle, stopping at St Peters and Erskineville.
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 6:30am to 10:40am Saturday, buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and the City via Regents Park, and between Richmond or Schofields and Olympic Park. You may need to change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Some trains run to a changed timetable and stopping patterm.
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Port Kembla and Wollongong. Buses towards Wollongong may leave stations up to 15 minutes earlier than the normal train timetable.

Regular bus routes

Red Bus Services, Busways and CDC NSW operate bus services in the Central Coast area.

Note: Red Bus services that usually run to and from Bryant Dr at Tuggerah Station will be relocated to the Pacific Hwy on the western side of Tuggerah Station instead.

A number of bus services run to Tuggerah Station and stop within walking distance of the sporting complex on Lake Rd.

  • Routes 10 - Tuggerah to Warnervale via Wyee (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Routes 11 - Tuggerah to Lake Haven via Warnervale (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Routes 12 - Dooralong to Tuggerah via Durren Durren (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Routes 13 - Lemon Tree to Tuggerah via Warnervale (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Routes 14X - The Entrance to Tuggerah (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Routes 15 and 16 - The Entrance to Wyong via Long Jetty, Bateau Bay, Mingara and Tuggerah (operates daily.)
  • Route 19 - Gosford to Wyong via Erina Fair, Berkeley Vale and Tuggerah (operates daily.)
  • Routes 24, 25 and 26 - The Entrance to Wyong via Bateau Bay, Berkeley Vale and Tuggerah (operates daily.)
  • Route 30 - Wyong to Tuggerah via Tacoma South and Mardi (operates Monday–Friday.)
  • Route 36 - Gosford to Westfield Tuggerah via Niagara Park (operates daily)
  • Route 37 - Tuggerah to Gosford via Lisarow (operates daily)
  • Route 47 - Tuggerah to Ourimbah via Berkeley Vale and Fountaindale (operates Monday–Friday)
  • Route 78 - Lake Haven to Tuggerah via Sparks Rd, Warnervale & Wadalba (operates daily)
  • Route 79 - Lake Haven to Tuggerah via Woongarrah, Hamlyn Terrace & Wattanobi (operates daily)
  • Route 80 - Lake Haven to Tuggerah via Lake Haven Dr & Pacific Hwy (operates daily)
  • Route 81 - Lake Haven to Tuggerah via Kanwal, Wyongah & Wadalba (operates daily)
  • Route 82 - Lake Haven to Tuggerah via Wyongah, Tuggerawong & Tacoma (operates daily)
  • Route 93 - Noraville to Tuggerah via Wyong & Toukley (operates Monday-Friday)
  • Route 94 - Budgewoi to Tuggerah via San Remo & Wyong (operates Monday-Friday)

Park n Ride

EDSACC North in Bateau Bay will operate as a Park ‘n Ride event parking location with a shuttle bus running to and from the venue between 7am and 7pm.

Tuggerah Dog Park (weather permitting) will also operate as a Park ‘n Ride event parking location with a shuttle bus running to and from the venue between 7am and 7pm.

CDC Bus Services will provide shuttle transfers for Route 1 and Route 2 (above). These buses will be identifiable as Event Buses (LED and window signage). Both buses are fully accessible and can accommodate 2 wheelchairs.

Route 1 will depart EDSACC every hour, on the hour, with returns from the CCRSRC on the half hour, every hour. The first service will commence at 08:00 and the final return service will depart from the CCRSRC at 19:00. Route 2 will depart every 15 / 20 minutes to provide transfers from the Dog Park.

The first service is scheduled to depart the Dog Park at 07:00 and the final return service 
from the CCRSRC is scheduled for 19:00.

Traffic is expected to be heavier than usual on the Pacific Hwy, Wyong Rd, Bryant Dr and Pacific Mwy as crowds travel to and from the event.

Motorists should allow extra travel time on roads in the area during the already busy long weekend period and be aware of increased pedestrian activity on local roads.

If you have to drive, consider parking at nearby stations including Gosford, Woy Woy and Wyong then continuing your trip to Tuggerah by train.

A dedicated pick up and drop off "Kiss & Ride" area is located on the Pacific Highway at Tuggerah Station.

Car parks

Parking is available at Tuggerah Stations but may be limited as large crowds are expected. Street parking is also available.

Event parking locations secured are:

  • CCRSRC (The Venue) - 20 Lake Road, Tuggerah
  • EDSACC Bateau Bay - 460 The Entrance Rd, Bateau Bay - A shuttle bus will depart every hour, on the hour, with returns from CCRSRC on the half hour, every hour. The first service will commenec at 8am and the final service return will depart at 7pm.
  • Tuggerah Dog Park - Second Ave, Tuggerah - A shuttle bus will depart every 15 / 20 minutes. The first service will depart at 7am and the final return service will depart at 7pm.
  • HOMECO (Super Centre) - Overflow Parking on east side of Bryant Drive, Tuggerah

No on-street parking is available along Lake Road (up to the intersection of Church Rd) and down Church Rd up to Tuggerah Oval.  

If you have to drive, you can also consider using the Park n Ride facilities or parking at nearby stations including Gosford, Woy Woy and Wyong then continuing your trip to Tuggerah by train.
