Important Travel Advice

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.   

Trains run regularly to Wollongong on the South Coast Line, and the stadium is only a short walk away.  

Note on Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, buses replace South Coast Line trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. You will need catch replacement buses to continue your trip. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you have to drive, travel with your group and use nearby local parking. Allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual as fans travel to the match in the busy Friday evening peak. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping for a train to the city to connect with services to Wollongong on Thursday and Friday. 

Please note that on Thursday 20 June from 8.40pm, buses replace metro from Tallawong to Chatswood, and from 9.20pm buses replace metro from Chatswood to Tallawong. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

The closest station to WIN Entertainment Centre is Wollongong on the South Coast Line. 

The venue is approximately 15 minutes' walk from the station via Burelli Street. Alternatively, you can catch the free Gong Shuttle from Crown Street which stops near the stadium.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Thursday 21 to Sunday 23 June on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • Metro North West Line: Tuesday 18 to Thursday 20 June, from 8.40pm, buses replace metro from Tallawong to Chatswood. Nightly from 9.20pm, buses replace metro from Chatswood to Tallawong. 
  • City Circle Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains run in one direction only, from Central first stop Museum. Some trains may start or end at Central, run to a changed timetable or leave from different platforms. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay, Wynyard, Town Hall and Central. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 10pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
  • T1 Western Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 10pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at some stations between Ashfield and Macdonaldtown. 
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 10pm to 1.30am, Inner West trains will not run. Leppington, T1 Western and T9 Northern Line trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at some stations between Homebush and Macdonaldtown. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, Buses replace trains between Cronulla, Waterfall and Sydenham. Trains run between Sydenham and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains start and end at Central. Change trains at Central to continue your journey. Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, trackwork on the T4 Illawarra and South Coast lines may affect how you travel. Change at Central for T4 Eastern Suburbs Line trains, or buses to South Coast Line stations and Wolli Creek for buses to T4 Illawarra Line stations.  
  • T9 Northern Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 10pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and make extra stops at some stations between Croydon and Macdonaldtown. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 7.30pm to 3.30am, buses replace trains from Lithgow to Penrith. The last train from the Blue Mountains leaves Mount Victoria at 7:01pm, arriving Central at 9:23pm. from 9.10pm to 3am, buses replace trains from Penrith to Lithgow. The last train to the Blue Mountains leaves Central at 7:18pm, arriving Mount Victoria at 9:36pm. Trains run between Penrith and Central, some to a changed timetable. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Monday 17 to Thursday 20 June, from 10pm to 2.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
  • Hunter Line: Thursday 20 June Buses replace the 08:14am Newcastle Interchange to Muswellbrook and the 10:09am Muswellbrook to Newcastle Interchange. Trains run to the normal timetable between Newcastle Interchange and Maitland.  
  • South Coast Line: Saturday 22 and Sunday 23 June, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Central. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. South Coast Line trackwork buses do not stop at Wolli Creek. If you are travelling to T8 Airport & South Line stations change at Central for a train.

Regular bus routes stop within walking distance of WIN Entertainment Centre, including routes 1, 3, 4, 8, 10, 11, 31, 33, 34, 35, 37, 39, 90 and 92.

A number of regular bus routes make stops along Corrimal Street and Burelli Street to get you within walking distance of WIN Entertainment Centre.

You can also catch a 'Free Gong Shuttle' (routes 55A and 55C) that operates regularly on weekdays and the weekend. The shuttle runs in both directions on a loop from Wollongong Station to Wollongong University via Wollongong Hospital, Burelli Street and the Innovation Campus. L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, change for a South Coast Line train to Wollongong.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a train towards Wollongong on the South Coast Line.

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the Wollongong CBD and on local roads around WIN Entertainment Centre as attendees travel to and from the show. Allow extra travel time.

Local roads around the stadium may close to help crowds move safely around the area.

Attendees travelling to the event on the freeway are encouraged to use the Masters Road exit to avoid congestion at Mount Ousley Road, both in and out of Wollongong.

Taxi Rank

A taxi rank is located across the road from WIN Entertainment Centre outside the Steelers Club on Burelli Street. There is also an additional taxi rank located adjacent the WIN Entertainment Centre on the corner of Crown & Harbour Streets.

Secure taxi ranks are located on Corrimal Street, and on the corner of Crown and Kembla Streets.

Drop-Off Zone
