Important event information

Large crowds are expected to attend the annual four day music festival running over the Easter long weekend from Thursday 17 April to Sunday 20 April at Byron Events Farm, Tyagarah. 

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. If you are driving, arrive early and allow plenty of extra travel time as delays are expected on the M1 Pacific Motorway throughout the weekend. Traffic will already be heavy on Friday and Monday as holidaymakers travel for the Easter long weekend. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.

Extra buses and coaches will run from Byron Bay and surrounding local areas to get to and from the festival. Plan ahead and allow extra time.

There is no local train station in Byron Bay, the closest station to the event venue is Casino.

Shuttle buses will be running from the following locations to help you get to and from the event from Thursday to Sunday. Services will be running from Byron Bay, Ballina, Lennox Head and Brunswick Heads. Check Local Bus Timetables for more information.

Traffic will be heavy on the M1 Pacific Motorway through Tyagarah particularly, on Wednesday as camper start to arrive. Delays are expected further south around Pimlico and Ballina as festival goers head home on Monday morning. Motorists should expect delays on the M1 Pacific Motorway at Ewingsdale Road and Gulgan Road, as well Mullumbimby Road, Gulgan Road, Tyagarah Road, Old Pacific Highway and Ewingsdale Road.

Motorists travelling to Bluesfest or travelling in the area over the Easter long weekend should allow extra travel time and expect delays in the area throughout the weekend. Consider alternate routes or travelling outside the peak crowd arrival/departure times to avoid some of the delays. Motorists are reminded to plan their journey and drive to the conditions.

Motorists travelling south on the M1 Pacific Motorway to the festival should use the ramp at the Mullumbimby exit for direct access to the venue.

Northbound motorists should leave the motorway at the Mullumbimby Gulgan Road off-ramp. Motorists should exercise caution and follow the direction of traffic controllers, there’ll also be plenty of signage along the motorway directing motorists to the festival site.

There are two entrances to the festival.

NORTH - The North entrance is for day patrons travelling in cars to the Bluesfest festival, coming from the North.

SOUTH - The South entrance is for day patrons travelling in cars to the Bluesfest festival, coming from the South. The Campers entry point, day patron drop off, buses and taxis are located at the South entrance.

There is disabled parking at both entrances. Please follow the signs and directions from the traffic controllers.
