Important event information

Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time.  

Note that on Sunday 4 May, the Moore Park precinct will be very busy with more than 40,000 fans attending an AFL match at the SCG next door. Ticketholders to Sunday’s shows are urged to plan ahead and consider the public transport options available to avoid traffic delays and the high demand for parking.   

Transport  

  • Public transport is the best way to get to the Hordern Pavilion with light rail services stopping at Moore Park directly across from the venue.  
  • Trains and metro services run regularly to the city where you can connect with frequent light rail services to Moore Park. Plenty of regular route buses also make stops along Anzac Parade and Oxford Street nearby.  
  • You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Tavel app ahead of time.
  • Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to avoid the queues for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 550KB) to find your way. 

Driving 

  • If you’re driving carpool with your group and expect delays on roads approaching the precinct. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.   
  • Parking is available at The Entertainment Quarter multi storey car park, 24 hours a day. Entry is via entry Errol Flynn Boulevard off Lang Road and a fee applies. 
  • On Sunday 4 May, parking in Moore Park will likely be at or near capacity prior to The Wiggles afternoon shows due to 40,000 fans attending an AFL match kicking off at 1.10pm, finishing at 3.40pm. 
  • If you must drive, you will need to arrive early to secure parking or have a back-up parking option away from the precinct and continue the last leg of your trip by light rail or bus to Moore Park. 
  • Major roads in the Sydney CBD will also be closed between 4am and 12.30pm for the annual Runaway Sydney Half Marathon. Fans travelling from the north for the shows should expect delays southbound approaching the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Tunnel while the Cahill Expressway is closed. Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.  

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. 

On Sunday from 4am to 9.30am, extra metro services run between Tallawong and Sydenham.

The closest stations to Hordern Pavilion are Central and Bondi Junction.  

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.  

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium. 

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 3 and Sunday 4 May that may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner

  • M1 Metro Line: On Sunday from 4am to 9.30am, extra metro services run between Tallawong and Sydenham. 
  • T1 North Shore Line: On Sunday from 4am to 7.40am, trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only, some to a changed timetable. Use metro services between Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross and the City, or change at Wynyard for a City Circle train or the light rail. Buses replace trains between Central and Strathfield. 
  • T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. 
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and the City via the Airport, and between Fairfield and the City via Granville. Trains between Leppington and Glenfield run to a reduced frequency, buses supplement trains between these stations. Buses also replace T3 trains between Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Regents Park. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Fairfield and Schofields or Richmond. Change at Parramatta for trains towards the City. T1 trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. 
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Liverpool, Cabramatta and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, some to a changed timetable. Inner West trains run between Homebush and the City. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Buses also replace trains between Macarthur, Liverpool and Fairfield and T6 trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run between Lidcombe and Ashfield only. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.  
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Schofields and Olympic Park, and between Fairfield and the City via Granville. You may need to change services to continue your journey. Trains also run between Leppington and the City via the Airport. Trains between Leppington and Glenfield run to a reduced frequency, buses supplement trains between these stations. Some late night and early morning trains run between Fairfield and Richmond. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool, Cabramatta and Lidcombe. Change at Lidcombe for T1 or T2 trains towards the City or Parramatta; at Regents Park for T3 buses towards Cabramatta; at Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham. Trackwork between Bankstown and Lidcombe continues until Sunday 29 June. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur, Glenfield and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington or Revesby and the City via the Airport. T8 trains between Sydenham and the City Circle do not run. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T9 Northern Line: On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central. Trains run between Hornsby and Strathfield, some to a changed timetable. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 30 minutes later than the normal timetable. Bathurst trains run to the normal timetable between Bathurst and Strathfield. Some late night or early morning trains start from Strathfield or run around the City Circle. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. T1 trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Most trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. Some late night or early morning trains run around the City Circle. On Sunday from 1.20am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central. 
  • South Coast Line: From 10pm Friday, trains that normally start or end at Central, platforms 1-12 will start or end at Bondi Junction.  
  • Southern Highlands Line: Buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Glenfield. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 trains run to a changed timetable between Glenfield and the City.

A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines 

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade across from Hordern Pavilion.  

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Changed traffic conditions – Sunday 4 May 

  • Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the SCG from 10.15am and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.  
  • No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas will be maintained from Lang Road. Grass car parks open from 10am.

Moore Park parking

  • Parking will be in very high demand and is expected to fill early on Sunday 4 May
  • Parking is available at Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park, entry is via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. A flat rate parking fee applies.

Special Event Clearways – Sunday 4 May 

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 10am to 6pm on sections of Albion Street, Fitzroy Street and Moore Park Road, and from 6am to 7pm on Cleveland Street.  

From 6am to 7pm 

  • Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
  • Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 

From 10am to 6pm 

  • Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
  • Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 
  • Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side) 
  • Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side) 

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
