Important Travel Advice
Attendees are encouraged to catch public transport and leave the car at home as heavy traffic is expected over the weekend of the show.
Travel on trains, metro and light rail is included in your ticket to the Hawkesbury Show, simply show your ticket to transport staff when boarding services.
Trains run regularly to Clarendon Station on the T1 and T5 Richmond Line with additional services to help you get there and home again. Hawkesbury Showground is a short two-minute walk from station.
If you have to drive, allow plenty of extra travel time as delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct. Travel with your group and aim to arrive early to avoid the delays. Alternatively consider parking at a nearby station and continuing your trip to the Show by train to Clarendon Station.
Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Hawkesbury Showground so allow extra time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Event ticket entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to the Hawkesbury Show 2025 include travel on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to Transport staff when boarding services:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light rail services
For travel on buses and ferries, you will need to use an Opal card or contactless payment method. See below for more information.
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on trains until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 4 to 10 minutes, until late at night.

The closest station to Hawkesbury Showground is Clarendon which is on the T1 Richmond Line and is a short walk to the event site.

Getting there: Additional services will run every hour from 9:10am until 9:10pm from Seven Hills stopping at Blacktown, Quakers Hill, Schofields, Riverstone, Mulgrave, Windsor and Clarendon.

Getting home: Return services will run every hour from 9:55am until 9:55pm from Clarendon stopping at Windsor, Mulgrave, Riverstone, Schofields, Quakers Hill, Blacktown and Seven Hills.

Getting there: Additional services will run every hour from 9:10am until 4:10pm from Seven Hills stopping at Blacktown, Quakers Hill, Schofields, Riverstone, Mulgrave, Windsor and Clarendon.

Getting home: Return services will run every hour from 9:55am until 4:55pm from Clarendon stopping at Windsor, Mulgrave, Riverstone, Schofields, Quakers Hill, Blacktown and Seven Hills.
Alternatively, if you have to drive consider parking at a nearby station commuter car park and continuing your trip to the Hawkesbury Show by train. Nearby station commuter car parks with capacity include Seven Hills, Richmond, Blacktown, Schofields, Riverstone and Mulgrave station car parks.
Trackwork
Trackwork is taking place from Friday 9 to Sunday 11 May on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
Friday:

T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. T3 trains run between Liverpool and the City, also stopping at Regents Park and Berala. Change at Lidcombe for T1, T2 or T3 trains towards the City or Parramatta, Regents Park for T3 trains towards Liverpool, Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham.
Saturday 10 and Sunday 11 May:
- City Circle Line: Trains do not run to Museum, St James or Circular Quay but continue to run between Central, Town Hall and Wynyard. T4 trains continue to run between Central, Town Hall, Martin Place and Kings Cross. The light rail runs in both directions between Circular Quay and Central. If you are travelling to Circular Quay, change at Wynyard for the light rail or walk or, if you are travelling to Museum or St James, change at Central or Town Hall for local buses or walk. On Saturday From 9.50pm to 2am, trains will not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the City use T4 trains, metro, light rail or local bus services.
- T1 North Shore Line: On Saturday from 9.50pm to 2am, trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only, some to a changed timetable. Use metro services between Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross and the City, or change at Wynyard for the light rail. Trains do not run on the City Circle or between Wynyard or Central. T1 Western and T9 Northern Line trains start and end at Central, platforms 1-12.
- T1 Western Line: Penrith trains make an extra stop at Ashfield. Trains run between Richmond and Central, platforms 1-12. Saturday from 9.50pm to 2am, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-12, and make an extra stop at Burwood. Trackwork on the City Circle may also affect how you travel. Change at Central for metro, light rail or local bus services to continue your journey. T1 North Shore Line trains run between Wynyard and Berowra.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Central, platforms 1-12 via Granville, Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12 via Regents Park, and between Homebush and North Sydney. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local buses to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum. Saturday from 9.20pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Macarthur and Liverpool, and between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Ashfield via Granville. Express trains continue to run between Ashfield and Central.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and North Sydney, and between Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12 via Regents Park. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local buses to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum. Saturday from 9.40pm to 2am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe only. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Due to T8 Airport & South Line trackwork, if travelling to the Airport change at Central or Sydenham for a bus, not Wolli Creek.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run between Liverpool and Schofields or Richmond, some to a changed timetable.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. T3 trains run between Liverpool and North Sydney, and between Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12 via Regents Park, also stopping at Regents Park and Berala. Change at Lidcombe for T1, T2 or T3 trains towards the City or Parramatta, Regents Park for T3 trains towards Liverpool, or Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham. Saturday from 9.40pm to 2am, T3 trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe only.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield, Sydenham and Central via the Airport. Metro services run between Sydenham and the City. Trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Central, platforms 1-12 via Granville, Campbelltown and Central, platforms 1-12 via Regents Park, between Sydenham and Bondi Junction. Change at Central for trains to T4 or South Coast Line stations, not Wolli Creek. Saturday from 9.20pm to 2am, buses also replace trains between Macarthur and Liverpool.
- T9 Northern Line: Saturday from 9.50pm to 2am, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-12, and make extra stops at Croydon and Ashfield.
- South Coast Line: Due to T8 Airport & South Line trackwork, if travelling to the Airport change at Central for a bus, not Wolli Creek. Saturday from 7.30am to 11.30am, at Bulli, Woonona, Bellambi and Corrimal, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Corrimal, Bellambi, Woonona and Bulli, all trains leave from platform 2. Sunday from 7.30am to 11.30am, at Towradgi, Fairy Meadow and North Wollongong all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at North Wollongong, Fairy Meadow and Towradgi, all trains leave from platform 2.
- Southern Highlands Line: Some trains will leave Central earlier than the normal timetable.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Fridays. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.
Change at Central for train services towards Clarendon on the T1 Richmond Line.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.
Change at Central for train services towards Clarendon on the T1 Richmond Line.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Connect with trains to Clarendon from Parramatta or Westmead train stations.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

There is on site vehicle parking, including dedicated disabled parking. Please note that there will be changed traffic conditions on surrounding roads and into the showground with traffic controllers on site to assist direct and manage traffic.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours free parking each day. If you have a ticket to an event that includes free Park&Ride parking, use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator. If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.
