Important Travel Advice
Olympic Park will be busy on Easter Sunday with thousands of people expected at the Easter Show in addition to thousands of NBL fans. Attendees are urged to plan their trip and consider the public transport options to avoid the heavy traffic and the high demand for parking.
Transport
- Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe. Additional trains will run for the Sydney Royal Easter Show that fans can utilise to get to and from the game.
- Public transport is the best way to get to Olympic Park – match tickets include travel on transport services.
- Planned metro weekend trackwork may affect how you travel to and from the match. Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood. Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
- You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the NBL. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
- Please note that Easter Show infrastructure and fencing is in place. Follow directions and signage in the precinct as walking routes have changed.
Driving
- If you need to drive it's essential to pre-book parking to guarantee a car space – available until 11:59pm the night before unless sold out prior. Keep in mind parking is in high demand with Easter Show crowds so book online early! An event flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.
- Note P5 & P6 car park are closed due to Easter Show infrastructure.
- If you have pre-booked parking, follow directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.
- Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching Olympic Park while basketball fans and Easter Show crowds travel to and from the precinct. Carpool with your group, plan to arrive early and allow extra travel time. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
- If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare, taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue.

Match ticket entitlements
Valid pre-purchased tickets to the 2026 NBL Championship Game 5 on Sunday 5 April only at Qudos Bank Arena include travel to and from Olympic Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:
- Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
- Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
- Sydney Metro services
- Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
- Sydney and Newcastle Ferries
Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.
Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.
Transport Park&Ride Car Parks
Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
Tickets to 2026 NBL Championship Game 5 on Sunday 5 April include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.
If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Planned Trackwork – Easter long weekend Friday to Monday inclusive
- Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham.
- Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
- For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
- Use trains between Epping or Chatswood, the City and Sydenham

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.
Additional trains will run for the Sydney Royal Easter Show that fans can utilise to get to and from the game.

- South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland, and between Central and Bondi Junction. Trains run between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, some to a changed timetable. T4 Illawarra Line trains run to a changed timetable between Sutherland and the City Circle. Change at: Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction. - Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.
- Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.
- Route 533 runs from Sydney Olympic Park to Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.
Bus Diversions
From 4am Thursday 2 April to 4am Tuesday 14 April buses in Olympic Park will be using different stops and routes while roads are closed in the precinct for the Sydney Royal Easter Show.
Stops on Park Street at Olympic Park Station and on Dawn Fraser Avenue will be closed.
- Routes 525 and 526 in both directions will use alternative stops on Edwin Flack Avenue and a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Avenue at Park St near the train station (Stop ID 212799).
- Routes 533 and N81 in both directions will use a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Avenue at Park Street near the train station (Stop ID 212799).
Allow extra time and check signs at stops for alternate stop locations.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.
F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are popular and may reach capacity. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Heavy traffic is expected on roads approaching the precinct while the Easter Show is on. Travel with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road.

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct.

Train Station Commuter Parking
A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Olympic Park.
Stations with large car parks on the western line where you can change for a frequent direct train to Olympic Park include:
- T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Emu Plains, Rooty Hill, St Marys and Penrith.
Stations with large car parks on other train lines that require one interchange by train to get to Olympic Park include:
- T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
- T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Leppington and Edmonson Park.
