Important Travel Advice

With large crowds expected each concert night, ticketholders are urged to leave the car at home and catch public transport to avoid getting caught in heavy traffic delays. Concert nights are on Wednesday 4, Monday 9 and Tuesday 10 June.  

The precinct will be especially busy on public holiday Monday 9 June as up to 50,000 NRL fans also travel to the precinct for a game at neighbouring Accor Stadium from 4pm.  

Transport 

  • Public transport is the best way to get to Olympic Park. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner
  • Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. 
  • Additional trains will run each concert night to help you get to Olympic Park and home again. 
  • Trackwork is taking place on the network throughout the event. Plan your trip ahead of time and allow extra travel time if your line is affected. 
  • You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time. 

Drive 

  • If you need to drive, it is essential that you pre-book parking online to guarantee a car space. Spaces will be in high demand, especially on Monday 9 June. 
  • If you have pre-booked parking, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry.   
  • After the show, traffic will be very heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks.   
  • You can also consider parking at a nearby train station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train to Olympic Park.  
  • If you're getting dropped off or catching rideshare, taxi ranks are located on Herb Elliott Avenue. Allow plenty of extra travel time on the roads.   
  • Allow plenty of extra travel time on roads and plan your trip before leaving home. Traffic approaching the precinct will be heavy on all concert nights but particularly on Monday 9 June as NRL fans leave the precinct at the same time concertgoers arrive. Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night. 

Change at Epping or Cenrtral for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until late.

Please note that trackwork is taking place during the event that directly impacts your travel to and from Olympic Park. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner and allow extra travel time if your line is affected. 

  • If you are travelling home from Wednesday 4 June concert, buses replace T2 and T3 Line trains between Strathfield and Central. You may need to catch a replacement bus to complete your journing home.
  • If you need to travel on the T6 Line to or from any cocnert, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe.

The following additional trains will run to help you get to and from the event:

Wednesday 4 June

  • Leaving Blacktown at 6.03pm – stopping at Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • Leaving Liverpool at 5.45pm – stopping at Cabramatta, Fairfield, Granville, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • The Lidcombe to Olympic Park sprint will run frequently until 12.30am.

Monday 9 June

  • Leaving Central at 2.27pm and 2.52pm – stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park.
  • Leaving Blacktown every 20-minutes from 2pm until 6pm, and then every 10 minutes from 6pm until 8pm – stopping at Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville, Lidcombe then Olympic Park.
  • Leaving Liverpool every 20-minutes from 2pm until 8pm – stopping at all stations to Granville then Auburn, Lidcombe and Olympic Park.
  • The Lidcombe to Olympic Park sprint will run frequently until 12.10am.
  • Leaving Olympic Park at 12.11am and 12:21am – stopping at Strathfield, Redfern then Central.

Tuesday 10 June

  • Leaving Blacktown at 6.03pm – stopping at Parramatta, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • Leaving Liverpool at 5.46pm – stopping at Cabramatta, Fairfield, Granville, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 
  • The Lidcombe to Olympic Park sprint will run frequently until 1am.

Weeknight – Wednesday 4 June 

  • T1 North Shore Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central. 
  • T1 Western Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood. From 9.20pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Riverstone. Trains run between Riverstone and Leppington or Olympic Park. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City.
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run, stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern and Central. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Most T1 trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood.
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace Inner West Line trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change trains at Lidcombe to continue your journey. Express trains continue to run, stopping at Strathfield, Burwood, Redfern and Central. Most T1 trains make extra stops at Homebush and Burwood. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs Line: From 9.50pm to 4.30am, buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction to the normal timetable. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 9.20pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Riverstone. Trains run between Riverstone and Leppington. From 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Riverstone or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey.
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. See the news article for more details.
  • T9 Northern Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
  • Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria. Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable. Bathurst trains run to a changed timetable between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: From 9.40pm to 1.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Strathfield and Central.
  • Hunter Line: From 8am to 1pm, buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Telarah or Muswellbrook. The 8.29am Newcastle Interchange to Dungog will not run. Catch the 8.48am Newcastle Interchange to Telarah train and change at Maitland for a bus towards Dungog. Buses also replace the 10.02am Dungog to Newcastle Interchange service.

Public holiday – Monday 9 June 

  • T4 Eastern Suburbs Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. See the news article for more details.

Weeknight – Tuesday 10 June

  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. See the news article for more details. T3 trains run between Liverpool and the City, also stopping at Regents Park and Berala. Change at Lidcombe for T1, T2 or T3 trains towards the City or Parramatta; change at Regents Park for T3 trains towards Liverpool; or change at  Bankstown for Southwest Link bus services towards Sydenham.

The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park: 

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington. 
  • Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

Vivid service changes – Monday 9 June (public holiday)

  • From 5pm, services will not run between Town Hall and Circular Quay for pedestrian safety.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to and from each concert in the weeknight peak. Significant delays are expected in the precinct and in car parks on Monday 9 June as NRL fans leave the precinct as concertgoers arrive.  

If you’re driving, travel with your group, allow extra travel time and pre-book your parking ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. 

To get to your carpark and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout, use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road.  

Road closures

Sydney Olympic Park Authority will close some local roads to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during events. For road closure details, visit the Sydney Olympic Park interactive map for more details.   

Road Closures – Monday 9 June 

From 1.30am Monday 9 June until 2am Tuesday 10 June 

  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Edwin Flack Avenue to Showground Road.  
  • Olympic Boulevard from Herb Elliott Avenue to Northern Turning Circle   
  • Grand Parade from Orana Parade to Olympic Boulevard  
  • Showground Road from Grande Parade to Murray Rose Avenue  

From 12pm Monday 9 June until 2am Tuesday 10 June 

  • Showground Road from Murray Rose Avenue to Herb Elliott Avenue 
  • Murray Rose Avenue from Park Street to Showground Road 
  • Dawn Fraser Avenue from Park Street to Showground Road

Taxis are available on Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event. 

When leaving, choose a pick-up location away from the immediate area around the venue to avoid delays.

Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event, available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time. Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. 

If you haven’t pre-booked, follow the variable message signs within Sydney Olympic Park to the best available casual parking. 

Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct.
