Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station.
Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
If you have to drive, travel with your group and pre-book parking online – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior.
Some roads around the park will be closed for the NSW Half Marathon Championship and some buses will be diverting from their usual route.
Significant traffic delays are expected on roads approaching the precinct across the weekend while multiple other events take place at nearby venues. Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.
Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

Please note that due to planned trackwork, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham from 9.50pm on Sunday. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or for T4 trains to Sydenham. Planned trackwork is taking place from Saturday 13 to Sunday 14 September on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro Line: On Sunday from 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
- T1 North Shore Line: On Sunday from 4am to 7.40am, trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only, some to a changed timetable. Use metro services between Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross and the City, or change at Wynyard for a City Circle train or the light rail. Buses replace trains between Central and Strathfield.
- T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Richmond and Olympic Park. Change trains at Parramatta to continue your journey towards the City. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Inner West trains will not run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and the City via Granville. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Olympic Park via Granville and between Liverpool and Lidcombe via Regents Park. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards the City. T1 trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change trains at Lidcombe for trains towards the City. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards the City. T1 trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. On Saturday from 4am to 11.30am, buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Sutherland and Bondi Junction.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool. Trains run between Liverpool and Schofields, some to a changed timetable.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Macarthur and East Hills. Trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, and make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- T9 Northern Line: On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central. Trains run between Hornsby and Strathfield, some to a changed timetable.
- Blue Mountains Line: Most trains run between Blue Mountains Line stations and Blacktown only. Change trains at Blacktown to continue your journey. Trains from Blacktown to Blue Mountains Line stations run up to 30 minutes later than the normal timetable. Bathurst trains run to the normal timetable between Bathurst and Strathfield. Some late night or early morning trains start from Strathfield or run around the City Circle. On Sunday from 4am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. T1 trains run between Penrith and Ashfield only, to a changed timetable and stopping pattern. Change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central or remain on the train if you are travelling to Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Trains run between Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations and Strathfield only. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change trains at Strathfield to continue your journey. On Sunday from 1.20am to 7.30am, buses replace trains between Strathfield and Central. Change at Epping for metro services to the City or change at Strathfield for express and all-stations buses towards Central.
- South Coast Line: On Saturday from 3am to 11am, buses replace trains between Dapto, Port Kembla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Bomaderry, Kiama and Dapto, and T4 Illawarra trains run between Sutherland and Bondi Junction. On Sunday from 2.30am to 9.50am, buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, some to a changed timetable. The 2:39am Kiama to Bondi Junction service will run up to 14 minutes earlier than the normal timetable from Kiama to Coniston, then run to the normal timetable from Wollongong to Bondi Junction.
- Southern Highlands Line: On Saturday and Sunday, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and East Hills. You may need to change buses to continue your journey. T8 trains run to a changed timetable between East Hills and the City.

Route buses
The following Sydney bus services run to Olympic Park:
- Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.
- Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.
- Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.
Bus diversions
- From 1.30am to 12pm on Sunday 14 September, route 525 and route 526 services will be diverting via Edwin Flack Avenue, Sarah Durack Avenue, Olympic Boulevard and Showground Road. Services will miss some stops on Dawn Fraser Avenue. Catch these services from the alternative stop locations on Edwin Flack Avenue.
- From 4am to 10.30am on Sunday 14 September, route 533 services will be diverting via Hill Road, Pondage Link, Edwin Flack Avenue, Sarah Durack Avenue and Australia Avenue, and will miss stops on Holker Busway.

The closest wharf to Sydney Showground is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.
F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park, but services are very popular and may reach capacity – particularly during peak travel times or when multiple events are taking place within the precinct. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then continuing by train to Olympic Park.
- T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys, Emu Plains and Penrith.
- T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
