Large crowds are expected to attend the annual Crows Nest Fest on Sunday 19 October.
Public transport is the best way to get to the event with trains, metro and buses running regularly to Crows Nest.
The festival will be held on Willoughby Road, which is a short walk from Crows Nest metro station and St Leonards train station. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
Roads in the area will be closed to safely facilitate the event. Traffic is expected to be heavier on detour routes and on roads approaching the area.
If you’re driving, parking is available at a number of public car parks in the area, along with limited local street parking. Plan to arrive early to secure a parking spot and allow some extra travel time for increased traffic in the area. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham.
The event is a short walk from Crows Nest station on the M1 Metro Line.

The closest station to the event is St Leonards on the T1 North Shore Line and T9 Western Line. The event is a short walk from the station.
Alternatively, change at Central to connect with a metro service to Crows Nest station, where the event is a short walk to.
Trackwork
Planned weekend trackwork is taking place on Sunday 19 October on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro Line: Buses replace metro services between Tallawong and Castle Hill. Metro services run between Castle Hill and Sydenham only.
- City Circle: Trains do not run to Museum, St James or Circular Quay but continue to run between Central, Town Hall and Wynyard. Light rail services run between Central and Circular Quay. If you are travelling to Circular Quay, change at Wynyard for the light rail or walk. If you are travelling to Museum or St James, change at Central or Town Hall for local buses or walk.
- T1 Western Line: Richmond trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Central, platforms 1-14. Some early morning and late night Richmond trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond and Liverpool. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local bus services to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum. From 7:40am to 8:30pm, buses replace trains between Emu Plains and St Marys. Trains run to a changed timetable between St Marys and the City. Buses also replace trains on the Blue Mountains Line.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Macarthur and Central, platforms 1-14 via Granville, Liverpool and North Sydney via Regents Park, and Homebush and North Sydney. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local bus services to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum. Leppington trains will not stop at Ashfield. You may need to change at Strathfield to continue your journey. T9 trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Liverpool and North Sydney via Regents Park. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local bus services to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. If travelling to the Airport change at Central or Sydenham for a bus, not Wolli Creek. Buses replace T8 trains. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local bus services to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Glenfield. Trains run between Liverpool and Schofields or Richmond, some to a changed timetable. Change trains at Liverpool to continue your journey towards Glenfield.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Buses replace trains between Glenfield, Sydenham and Central via the Airport. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Macarthur and Central, platforms 1-14 via Granville, and between Sydenham and Bondi Junction. Change at Central for trains to T4 or South Coast Line stations, not Wolli Creek. Trains do not run around the City Circle. Use light rail or local bus services to travel to Circular Quay, St James or Museum.
- T9 Northern Line: Trains make an extra stop at Ashfield.
- Blue Mountains Line: Daily from 3am to 8pm, buses replace trains from Lithgow to Penrith. Daily from 3am to 10pm, buses replace trains from Penrith to Lithgow. Bathurst trains run to a changed timetable between Bathurst and Lithgow only. The 20:24 Central to Lithgow will be the first train to run towards Lithgow. The 19:48 Lithgow to Central will be the first train to run towards the City. From 7:40am to 8:30pm, buses also replace trains between Penrith and St Marys. T1 trains run between Penrith or St Marys and the City, some to a changed timetable.

Bus diversions
Route buses 115 and 263 will be diverting around a section of Willoughby Road and using temporary stops from 12:01am to 11pm on Sunday 19 October while roads are closed for the event.
Bus customers are encouraged to plan ahead using the Trip Planner, allow extra travel time and be patient as delays are expected

Catch one of the many ferry services to Circular Quay then walk to Wynyard to connect with trains to St Leonards. Alternatively, catch a train to Central when you can connect with metro services to Crows Nest.
Keep in mind Sydney Ferries are a great way to get around but services are very popular, especially on the weekends.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
At Central, change for a metro service to Crows Nest.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). At Central, change for a metro service to Crows Nest.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to St Leonards on the T1 North Shore Line. Alternatively, connect with a train to Central where you can join metro services to Crows Nest.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

- Willoughby Rd between Burlington St and Albany St
- Willoughby Rd (one-way) closed from Burlington St to Falcon St
- Clarke St between Willoughby Rd and Oxley St
- Clarke Ln between Hume St and Oxley St
- Burlington St between Willoughby Rd and Willoughby Ln
- Holtermann St between Willoughby Rd and Zig Zag Ln
- Hume St between Pacific Hwy and Pole Ln
- Hume Ln between Clarke Ln and Pole Ln
- Zig Zag Ln closed near Burlington St

Car parking spaces will fill early so attendees are encouraged to leave the car at home and to catch public transport. If you have to drive, allow plenty of extra travel time and plan to arrive early to secure a car space.
Limited local street parking is available in roads surrounding the event. Public parking is available at the below locations, a parking fee may apply:
- Holtermann Street car park: open from 7am to 10pm, entry from Holtermann Street.
- Hume Street car park: open from 7am to 10pm, entry from Pole Lane
- Nicholson Street car park: open from 7am to 10pm, entry from Nicholson Street
- Alexander Street car park: open from 7am to 10pm, entry from Nicholson Street
