Important Event Information

Thousands are expected at Raydia Festival at Sydney in the Domain. Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the avaliable travel options ahead of time  

Trains, metro and buses run regularly at Martin Place and St James within close walking distance of The Domain. Other major transport hubs at Town Hall, Circular Quay and Wynyard are also within walking distance

Please note due to planned maintenance, L2 and L3 light rail services will not run between Circular Quay and Town Hall. Use trains, metro or buses for travel around the CBD. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the match. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

If you are planning on driving or catching rideshare and taxis, allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual in the area.

Some roads around The Domain will close for crowd safety before, during and after the event. Motorists should avoid driving through the area at the end of the event and consider alternative routes. For real-time updates on traffic conditions visit livetraffic.com.

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.  

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Alight at Gadigal or Martin Place to get within close walking distance of the Domain.   

Trackwork - weekend Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November.  

  • Metro services will not run between Central and Sydenham on Saturday and Sunday. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 15 November and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner:

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.  
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 and T2 trains run between Lidcombe and the City. 
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: From 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes. 
  • Hunter Line: On Saturday from 9pm to 4am, buses replace trains between Telarah and Newcastle Interchange. 
  • South Coast Line: From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Waterfall and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Helensburgh and Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 2. 
  • Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 4.50pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and the City via the Airport.

Plenty of regular route buses run to the City making stops within short walking distance of The Domain.

The closest bus interchanges are at Town Hall QVB and Park Street, Martin Place, St James, and Hyde Park. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Ferries run regularly to Circular Quay and the wharves are within walking distance of The Domain. Sydney Ferries services are very popular on weekends and may reach capacity, so have alternative transport options in mind.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner to plan your trip.

From Central, connect with metro services to Gadigal or Martin Place to get within walking distance of the event. 

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Planned Maintenance - Saturday 15 to Friday 21 November inclusive

  • L2 Randwick Line and L3 Kingsford Line light rail services will not run between Circular Quay and Town Hall. Use Trains or Metro services instead.
  • Services will continue to run between Town Hall and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford.
  • Plan ahead and allow extra travel time. 

The closest stops to The Domain are QVB and Town Hall on the L2 and L3 lines, which are both within walking distance. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Town Hall or St James stations.

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

If you are catching rideshare or taxis, use the dedicated drop-off location on Hospital Road at Art Gallery Road. For pick-ups after the event head towards Elizabeth Street or Sir John Young Crescent.
