Important Travel Advice
Attendees are encouraged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options to Darling Harbour ahead of time.
Train and metro service run regularly to Central where you can change for L1 Inner West light rail services leaving from the Grand Concourse to Convention or Exhibition Centre stops to get within walking distance of Cockle Bay Wharf. Allow extra travel time as services may be busy, particularly during the weeknight evening peaks.
Remember, you'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device. Register your details online at Opal or via the app ahead of time.
Parking is available at the Exhibition Centre, entry on Darling Drive. Alternatively, the closest vehicle drop-off point is on Zollner Circuit or Iron Wharf Place off Darling Drive. Traffic may be heavier than usual so allow extra travel time. You can find real-time traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham.
Change at Central to connect with L1 Inner West light rail services towards Darling Harbour stops at Convention or Exhibition Centre.

- Metro services will not run between Central and Sydenham on Saturday and Sunday. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central.

The best station for connections to the International Convention Centre and nearby venues in Darling Harbour are Central and Town Hall stations,
From Central, catch an L1 Inner West light rail service leaving from Grand Concourse to the Exhibition Centre or Convention stops to get within walking distance of Darling Harbour venues.
Alternatively, you can walk from either Central or Town Hall stations in around 10 to 15 minutes.
Trackwork
Trackwork is taking place throughout the event from Thursday 13 to Sunday 16 November that may affect how you travel. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.
- M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: On Saturday 15 and Sunday 16 November Metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. On Sunday, buses replace T4 trains between Bondi Junction and Central. Replacement buses do not leave from Martin Place Station.
- T1 North Shore Line: On Thursday from 9.45pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Berowra and Hornsby. Trains run between Hornsby and the City, some to a changed timetable. Central Coast & Newcastle Line trains run from Hornsby to Berowra, in that direction only, with some trains making extra stops at Asquith, Mount Colah and Mount Kuring-gai.
- T1 Western Line: On Thursday from 10pm to 1.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Penrith and Central, making extra stops at some stations between Seven Hills and Strathfield.
- T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield or Homebush and the City, and between Glenfield and the City via the Airport. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: On Thursday from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. Trains run between Lidcombe and the City, to a changed timetable. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. Buses also replace T2 trains between Leppington and Fairfield, and T6 trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable between Liverpool and Lidcombe, and between Homebush and the City only. You may need to change trains to continue your journey. T1 and T2 trains run between Lidcombe and the City.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: On Sunday, Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Trackwork buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Trains run to a changed timetable between Cronulla, Waterfall and North Sydney, with some making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Change at: Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or metro services to Martin Place, or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction
- T5 Cumberland Line: On Thursday, from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Leppington and Fairfield. Trains run to a changed timetable between Fairfield and Richmond.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: On Thursday, from 9.40pm to 1.30am, buses replace trains between Bankstown and Lidcombe. Buses also replace T3 trains between Liverpool and Lidcombe. On Saturday from 6.30am to 10.30am, trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: On Sunday, Trains will not run between Sydenham and the City Circle. T4 trains run between Sydenham and North Sydney, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Trains via the Airport run to the normal timetable.
- Blue Mountains Line: On Thursday and Friday, Buses replace trains between Lithgow and Mount Victoria. Trains run between Mount Victoria and Central, some to a changed timetable. Bathurst trains run to a changed timetable between Bathurst and Lithgow or Central.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: On Thursday, from 10.20pm to 3am, trains from Hornsby to Central Coast & Newcastle Line stations may run up to 15 minutes later than the normal timetable and make extra stops at Asquith, Mount Colah and Mount Kuring-gai. Buses replace the following trains from Gosford to Hornsby 20:32 Newcastle Interchange to Central. 21:32 Newcastle Interchange to Central
- Hunter Line: On Saturday, from 9pm to 4am, buses replace trains between Telarah and Newcastle Interchange. On Sunday from 10pm to 2am, buses replace trains between Telarah and Newcastle Interchange.
- South Coast Line: On Saturday from 7.30am to 11.30am, at Waterfall and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Helensburgh and Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 2. On Sunday from 7.30am to 11.30am, at Helensburgh and Otford, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Otford and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 2. Buses replace trains between Central and Bondi Junction. Replacement buses do not leave from Martin Place Station. Most trains run to a changed timetable between South Coast Line stations and the City Circle. Change at: Central for buses to Kings Cross and Edgecliff, or metro services to Martin Place or Town Hall for express buses to Bondi Junction Metro services do not run between Sydenham and Central.
- Southern Highlands Line: On Saturday, from 4.40am to 4.50pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains run between Campbelltown and the City via the Airport.

Bus routes 389 from Bondi Junction and 501 from West Ryde stop at Harris Street near Allen Street in Pyrmont. The ICC Sydney is about a 750m walk from the stop location.
Buses also run regularly to QVB, Town Hall and Central to get you within walking distance of Tumbalong Park in Darling Harbour.

Catch a ferry to Circular Quay where you can change for a train to Central to continue your journey to Darling Harbour.
Alternatively, catch a ferry to Pyrmont Bay – from there you can walk to Cockle Bay Wharf, or you can connect with light rail services to Exhibition Centre or Convention to get within closer walking distance.
Early morning and late night ferries are limited so plan ahead and consider alternative transport options available, including trains, buses and light rail.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Change at Central Chalmers Street for L1 light rail services leaving from Central Grand Concourse to Convention or Exhibition Centre stops to get within walking distance of Darling Harbour venues. You can also consider walking to the venue from Central which will take approximately 20 minutes.
Planned Maintenance - Saturday 15 to Friday 21 November inclusive
- L2 Randwick Line and L3 Kingsford Line light rail services will not run between Circular Quay and Town Hall. Use Trains or Metro services instead.
- Services will continue to run between Town Hall and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford.
- Plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station
From Central change for L1 Light rail services leaving from Central Grand Concourse to Convention or Exhibition Centre stops to get within walking distance of Darling Harbour venues.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings

Traffic may be heavier than usual through the Sydney CBD and Pyrmont before and after each event, particularly in peak travel times. If you're planning to drive, travel with your group and allow extra travel time.

The best taxi and rideshare drop-off and pick-up locations include Iron Wharf Place and Zollner Circuit on the southern end of the ICC Sydney, both accessed via Darling Drive.

ICC Sydney has two 24-hour car parking stations with a total of 826 parking spaces, including 12 accessible parking bays, 25 motorcycle parking spaces, 50 bicycle racks and 25 electric car charge spaces.
The two car parks are located within the Exhibition Centre (Car Park 1) and ICC Sydney Theatre (Car Park 2).
Additionally, there are secure car parks located in and around Darling Harbour, including Wilson Harbourside Car Park and First Parking Darling Square Car Park.
