Important Travel Advice

Fans are encouraged to plan ahead and consider all the available travel options.  

Match tickets include travel on public transport, simply show your match ticket to transport staff when boarding services.

Trains and buses run regularly to Parramatta Station, where you can connect with light rail services from Parramatta Square to the Prince Alfred Square stop and walk to CommBank Stadium via Victoria Road. Alternatively, it's a 15-minute walk from the station. Some buses also make stops outside the stadium on O’Connell Street. See the CommBank Stadium transport and walking route map (pdf 3.9MB) for more details.  

Please note on Saturday 28 March major trackwork will take place on the City Circle, T1 North Shore Line and part of the Sydney Metro M1 Line. Buses replace T1 North Shore Line trains between Hornsby and Milsons Point. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. Metro services will not run between Macquarie Park and Victoria Cross. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner. 

Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as fans travel to the match. Allow extra travel time, you can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com.  

Roads around the stadium will close (pdf 270KB) after the game from 7.15pm until 7.45pm to allow crowds to safely leave the precinct. Bus stops outside the stadium will be closed and buses will use different stops nearby. Check signs and follow directions of staff. 

Traffic will also be heavy following the match as everyone leaves car parks at the same time. Be patient and follow the directions of traffic controllers and Police. If you’re travelling home by taxi or rideshare, choose a pick-up location away from the stadium to avoid traffic delays.  

Match Ticket Entitlements 

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2026 NRL season home games at CommBank Stadium include travel to and from CommBank Stadium on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries  

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your event ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day. 

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements. 

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.  

Tickets to 2026 NRL season home games at CommBank Stadium include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.  

If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Due to planned trackwork Metro services will not run between Macquarie Park and Victoria Cross. Use T9 Line trains instead. Note T1 North Shore line trackwork is also taking place. 

Change at Epping for a bus, or for a train service to Strathfield to connect with trains to Parramatta.

M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line partial line closure – Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 March 

  • Metro services do not run between Macquarie Park and Victoria Cross. 

  • Services run between Tallawong and Macquarie Park, and between Victoria Cross and Sydenham only.  

  • Buses run between Macquarie University and Victoria Cross. 

  • From Metro North West stations: 

    • use trains between Epping and Central via Strathfield 

    • change at Macquarie University for buses to North Ryde, Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross 

    • stay on the metro if you are travelling to Macquarie Park only. 

T1 North Shore Line and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel. Buses replace T1 North Shore Line trains between Hornsby and Milsons Point. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. For travel in the City use metro, light rail or local buses. T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and South Coast Line trains do not stop at Town Hall but continue to stop at Martin Place. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

The closest station to CommBank Stadium is Parramatta.

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: Metro services will not run between Macquarie Park and Victoria Cross. Services run between Tallawong and Macquarie Park, and between Victoria Cross and Sydenham only. Buses run between Macquarie University and Victoria Cross. From Metro North West stations: use trains between Epping and Central via Strathfield, change at Macquarie University for buses to North Ryde, Chatswood, Crows Nest or Victoria Cross or stay on the metro if you are travelling to Macquarie Park only. T1 North Shore Line and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • City Circle: Trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel to: Town Hall, use metro services to Gadigal (Town Hall) or use the light rail, Wynyard or Circular Quay, use the light rail, Museum or St James, change at Central or Gadigal (Town Hall) for local buses or walk and T1 North Shore Line stations, use metro services to Victoria Cross then change for a bus. T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra and South Coast Line trains do not stop at Town Hall. Extra L2 and L3 light rail services run between Central, Town Hall, Wynyard and Circular Quay. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines.
  • T1 North Shore Line: Buses replace trains between Hornsby and Milsons Point, also stopping at Victoria Cross metro station.  Change at Victoria Cross for metro services to the City. T9 Northern Line trains run between Berowra and Central platforms 1-14, via Strathfield. Sydney Metro and City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T1 Western Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between: Richmond and Liverpool. Change at Parramatta for trains towards Central or Penrith and Central, platforms 1-14 only, making an extra stop at Burwood. City Circle and T1 North Shore Line trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Ashfield via Granville or Regents Park.  Change at Strathfield for express trains to Central, or buses if you are travelling to stations between Summer Hill and Redfern. Remain on the train for Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Ashfield via Granville or Regents Park.  Change at Strathfield for express trains to Central, or buses if you are travelling to stations between Summer Hill and Redfern. Remain on the train for Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville but do not stop at Town Hall. For travel to Town Hall, change at Central for metro services to Gadigal. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T5 Cumberland Line: Extra trains run between Richmond and Liverpool
  • T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Most trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Sydenham, or between Revesby and Central via the Airport. Change at: Revesby for trains to Central via the Airport or Sydenham for metro services to the City or T4 trains towards Bondi Junction. Early morning and late-night trains run between Macarthur and Central via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. Some T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville but do not stop at Town Hall. For travel to Town Hall, use metro services to Gadigal. City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • T9 Northern Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Berowra or Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-14 only. Daily until 8am, trains run to a reduced frequency, every 30 minutes. Sydney Metro, T1 North Shore and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Sydney Metro, T1 North Shore and City Circle trackwork may affect how you travel.
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Bomaderry and Wollongong. Buses do not run to the train timetable. You may need to catch an earlier bus if connecting with trains at Wollongong. Trains run between Port Kembla, Wollongong and Bondi Junction, but do not stop at Town Hall. For travel to Town Hall change at Central for metro services to Gadigal or use the light rail.  City Circle trackwork may also affect how you travel
  • Southern Highlands Line: From 4.40am to 4.50pm, buses replace trains between Goulburn, Moss Vale and Campbelltown. T8 Airport & South Line trains are affected by City Circle trackwork and run to a changed timetable between Campbelltown and Sydenham, and between Revesby and Central via the Airport.

Regular route buses 

A number of buses run to and from Parramatta Interchange, where you can connect with light rail services from Parramatta Square to Prince Alfred Square stop and walk to CommBank Stadium via Victoria Road. Alternatively, it's a 15-minute walk from the station via Church Street and Victoria Road. See the CommBank Stadium transport and walking route map (pdf 270KB) to find your way. 

Alternatively, buses leave regularly from Stand A4 at Parramatta Interchange and make stops on O’Connell Street outside the stadium. These routes include 546, 600, 601, 603, 604, 606 and 706. All bus services are accessible. 

Bus diversions

Roads around the stadium will close from 7.15pm until 7.45pm to allow crowds to leave the precinct safely, including sections of O’Connell Street, Ross Street and Victoria Road. 

The following bus stops will be closed and routes 546, 549, 550, 600, 601 and 606 will be diverting while the road closures are in place. See the CommBank Stadium road closure map (pdf 270KB) for more details and alternative bus stop locations: 

  • Parramatta Leagues Club, O'Connell Street will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street opp Harold Street (for services towards the Hills and North West)
  • Our Lady of Mercy College, O'Connell Street will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street at Fennell Street (for services towards Parramatta Station)
  • Victoria Road after Villiers Street will be closed – alternative stop All Saints Anglican Church, Victoria Road (for services towards Parramatta Station)
  • Victoria Road before Marist Place will be closed – alternative stop O’Connell Street opp Harold Street (for services towards the Hills, Epping and Macquarie Park) 

Note: Victoria Road opp All Saints Anglican Church is open for services towards Central/Railway Square via Ryde.

The closest wharf to CommBank Stadium is Parramatta Wharf.

From the wharf, connect with light rail services to Prince Alfred Square to get within walking distance of CommBank Stadium.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Parramatta but services are popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

The closest light rail stop to CommBank Stadium is Prince Alfred Square. Alight at Prince Alfred Square and continue on foot via Victoria Road to the stadium. See the CommBank Stadium transport and walking route map (pdf 3.9MB) to find your way. 

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.  

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central to connect with T1 Western Line trains towards Parramatta to get within walking distance of the stadium.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Change at Central to connect with T1 Western Line trains towards Parramatta to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Train trackwork on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel. Trains do not run between Central and Wynyard, or on the City Circle. Use light rail services between Central and Circular Quay. For travel to T1 North Shore Line stations use metro services to Victoria Cross, then change for a bus. Daily from 7am to 7pm, extra L2 and L3 light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford.

If you’re driving to the game, plan to arrive early as car parks in the area are expected to be in high demand. Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the stadium during as fans travel to and from the match. Allow extra travel time on roads including Parramatta Road, Church Street, Victoria Road, James Ruse Drive and Pennant Hills Road. 

Motorists should also exercise caution as pedestrian activity will be high on roads between Parramatta Interchange and the stadium.  

Drivers are reminded that light rail services are running through Parramatta CBD. Trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so exercise extra caution when driving in the area.  

Road closures 

Roads around the stadium will close from 7.15pm until 7.45pm to allow crowds to safely leave the venue. Roads will re-open once crowds have cleared the area. 

  • O’Connell Street from Grose Street to George Street
  • Ross Street from O’Connell Street to Trott Street
  • Victoria Road from O’Connell Street to Villiers Street 

While closures are in place motorists are encouraged to avoid driving through Parramatta CBD and detour around the closures via Grose Street, Brickfield Street, Victoria Road and Wilde Avenue in both directions. See our road closure and transport map (pdf 270KB) for more details. 

Roads on approach to the stadium may be temporarily closed as crowds make their way to the game.

A taxi rank is located on the eastern side of Villiers Street between Ross Street and Victoria Road.

Note: O’Connell Street is a no-stopping zone. Taxis or any other vehicles are not permitted to drop off or pick up any passengers at any time.

Attendees who are being picked up or dropped off are encouraged to pre-plan a location away from the stadium to avoid traffic delays.

Parramatta car parks

Fans driving to the game should allow plenty of extra travel as parking is expected to be in high demand.  

The following car parks are within walking distance of the stadium. There's no public parking available on-site at CommBank Stadium on game days:  

  • Eat Street Car Park, entry via George Street
  • Justice Precinct Car Park, entry via Hunter Street
  • Parramatta Station Car Park, entry via Wentworth Street
  • Parramatta Leagues Club, O’Connell Street at Eels Place: Note pricing for the car park is dependent on if you are a Leagues Club Member (not a Football Club Member). Visit Parra Leagues Club for more info.

Attendees with mobility impairments or accessibility requirements can catch one of the regular route bus services that leave from bus stand A4 at Parramatta Interchange and make stops on O’Connell Street outside the stadium, including routes 600, 601, 603, 604, 606 and 706.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services are also accessible.
