Safety upgrade for Donnison Street Rail Bridge in Gosford
From Sunday 27 May work begins on a safety upgrade for the Donnison Street Bridge near Gosford Train Station. While this work is underway Donnison Street between Showground Road and Dane Drive will be closed to traffic, including pedestrians, at all times until the expected end date of Saturday 7 July 2018.
The work will involve installing new traffic barriers, resurfacing the road pavement, and installing ‘anti-throw screens’, which protect the railway from objects thrown or falling from the bridge. These changes will reinforce the bridge structure and improve the road and rail safety in the area.
If driving you should follow detour signage and get to the Gosford CBD through another street such Dane Drive. If you are walking you can get to Mann Street and the Gosford CBD through Gosford Station.
To minimise impacts on commuter train services the most significant work will take place over the June long weekend along with scheduled track closure of the Northern, Central Coast, North Shore and Hunter train lines. During this time work hours will continue all day from 7am on Friday 8 through to 2pm on Tuesday 11 June. At other times work will typically be from 7am to 5pm each day.
