Frequently asked questions

Transport for NSW regularly conducts service reviews of all modes to ensure services are meeting the needs of local communities.

Following the changes to rail timetables introduced late last year, the Central Coast’s bus network was reviewed with a view to better aligning bus services to train services, which has resulted in the minor bus timetable changes.

Some bus routes will have minor timetable adjustments only. Not all trips for each route have timetable changes, and most of these are outside of peak service times.

The following routes are affected by the timetable adjustments. 34, 36, 37, 38, 50, 50/3, 53, 54, 55, 57, 63, 64, 65, 66C, 67, 68, 70, 79, 81, 82, 90, 91, 92, 97, 98, 99, 2526 and 50/3.

No. There will not be any changes made to existing bus shelters as part of these adjustments.

When planning these bus changes, we have considered what will deliver the best outcomes for the majority of passengers.

We do this through the analysis of Opal data, passenger travel patterns and feedback. The analysis shows where and when passengers are travelling, as well as how travel needs are likely to change in the future.

Transport also responds to feedback received and continually monitors the network looking for ways to improve services, particularly in areas that have seen significant growth.

No formal consultation has been carried out on these changes, but we are committed to providing detailed information about what is changing.

In planning these changes, we focused on delivering the best outcomes for the majority of passengers. This approach included analysing Opal data to understand current travel patterns and forecast travel needs.

Transport will use a variety of channels to ensure the community understands the changes and how best to plan their journeys. We are dedicated to providing the best possible services, and we continually monitor the bus network to identify further improvement opportunities.

We encourage passengers to check the updated timetables before they travel, especially if you're taking a bus to catch a train.

We encourage school communities to plan their journeys using the Trip Planner which has been updated with the timetable changes.
