Improvements to real-time bus information

Bus operators will now be able to notify bus service updates more efficiently to passengers thanks to a new technology that means quicker and easier reporting of changes and disruptions such as service cancellations.

Whatever the reason for the disruption, updates are now able to be provided to passengers almost as instantly as they are reported. This improvement removes any time delays in communicating with passengers and any lags in reporting service or network delays or cancellations.

These changes further improve the accuracy and reliability of bus information, making it easier for passengers to see if their service is running on time and make informed decisions about other transport and travel options as quickly as possible if a service is cancelled or disrupted.

Improved real-time information is now available in the Trip Planner, Opal Travel app and other transport apps.
