Major train disruptions due to industrial action: Delay non-essential travel
Passengers should delay all non-essential travel as the rail network faces lengthy delays, service cancellations, and significant service gaps due to ongoing industrial action.
This will particularly impact the following lines:
-
T1 North Shore and Western
-
T2 Leppington & Inner West
-
T3 Liverpool & Inner West
-
T8 Airport and South
-
Blue Mountains
-
South Coast
-
Central Coast & Newcastle
Buses replace trains on the T7 Olympic Park Line.
These impacts will also have a flow-on effect across the network.
Passengers on the T4 line should experience fewer delays today. The safety work that disrupted services on Wednesday has now been completed.
However, critical safety work at Homebush remains unfinished, continuing to cause disruptions.
Additionally, critical safety work scheduled to begin at Gosford yesterday has not been completed. This will impact the Central Coast & Newcastle Line.
Buses will support train services on some lines, where available and required.
Passengers are urged to delay non-essential travel, consider using alternative travel and allow extra travel time. Plan ahead and check for the latest updates.
You may need to change services and there may be increased crowding.
Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink apologise for the disruption and thank commuters for their understanding as staff work to minimise the impacts of this industrial action.
