Important travel advice

The Sydney Royal Easter Show is back on over 12 days from Friday 11 to Tuesday 22 April at Sydney Olympic Park.  

Plan ahead as you’ll need to purchase a ticket for a specific day you wish to visit the Show. Tickets are non-transferable to other Show days as strict daily limit of tickets are in place. For more information and to purchase your Show ticket, visit Easter Show – tickets. Consider visiting on a weekday to avoid the largest crowds, especially if you’re visiting with young children.  

There are two entry gates to the Show - the Main entry gate on Olympic Blvd near Olympic Park train station and the Plaza entry gate near P1 car park. For detailed Pavilion opening times see the Easter Show website.

Transport 

  • Your ticket to the Show includes event entry and travel on all modes of public transport. Simply show your Easter Show ticket to transport staff when boarding services. 
  • Express and limited-stop trains will run to Olympic Park from Central and Western Line stations on weekends with some additional services on weekdays. 
  • Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will run each day of the Easter Show from early morning until around 3pm, with return buses leaving Olympic Park from 2pm until 10.30pm each night. Buses will run every 10 to 20 minutes, timetables vary on weekdays and weekends. On Fri 11 April return buses start from 3pm and on Mon 14 April return buses start from 1pm.
  • Trackwork will continue on parts of the rail network during the Show and may affect your trip by train or metro, depending on where you are travelling from, so plan ahead before leaving home.

Driving 

  • If you need to drive, it’s essential to pre-book parking online in advance. Car parks in Olympic Park are likely to sell out each day of the show, so get in early and secure your parking space now. 
  • You can also consider parking at a nearby station commuter carpark and continuing your trip by train or bus to Olympic Park, at no extra cost.  
  • Traffic will be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct, so plan to arrive early if you’re driving and allow plenty of extra travel time on the roads. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com

Keep in mind other events will be held in the precinct during the Show, so it’ll be busier than usual on the roads and on transport services on the days listed below. Plan ahead and make sure to pre-book parking.  

  • Friday 18 April, Good Friday – NRL Bulldogs v Rabbitohs at Accor Stadium from 4.05pm  
  • Saturday 19 April, Easter Saturday – Gearbox at Qudos Bank Arena from 4pm

Event ticket travel entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show include travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding: 

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
  • Sydney, Parramatta and Newcastle Light Rail services
  • Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your Show ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services in both directions between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham. Metro services start running from early morning, every 5 to 10 minutes, until late at night.  

Change at Epping for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park, or change at Central for express trains.

Trackwork

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April (all weekend) + Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 April (from 10pm nightly)  

 Metro services will run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Metro will not run between Sydenham and Central. Catch T4 trains between Central and Sydenham instead. 

Connect with Major Event Buses

You can also connect with Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses routes 1A, 1B, 5A and 5B from the following North West Metro stations to get to the concert:

  • Route 1A: Chatswood and North Ryde stations
  • Route 1B: Macquarie Park Station
  • Route 5A: Hills Showground and Castle Hill stations
  • Route 5B: Tallawong, Rouse Hill, Kellyville, Bella Vista and Norwest stations

Park & Ride at commuter car parks

Consider parking at existing commuter car parks at Metro North West stations and connecting with Major Event Buses Route 5A or 5B to Olympic Park. Large commuter carparks are located at the following stations.

  • Tallawong – 1000 spaces
  • Kellyville – 1360 spaces
  • Bella Vista – 800 spaces
  • Hills Showground – 600 spaces
  • Cherrybrook – 400 spaces

The closest station to the Sydney Royal Easter Show is Olympic Park. From the station it's a short walk to the Show's main entry gates.

Express and limited-stop trains will run to Olympic Park from Central and Western Line stations on weekends with some additional services on weekdaysTravel on trains is included in your Easter Show ticket.

Attendees are reminded the Show typically sees its largest crowds over the Easter Long Weekend so allow plenty of extra travel time when catching transport to and from the Show during this time, or consider visiting on a weekday instead.

Weekdays 

  • To and from the city: Express trains between Central Station and Olympic Park will run every 20 – 30 minutes from around 8.30am to 11pm, stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park. These express trains leave from the country platforms at Central Grand Concourse.  
  • To and from the west and south: Trains run regularly to Lidcombe Station where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct service to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes in both directions until late. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: services will make additional stops at Lidcombe between 9:25am and 3.15pm and between 7pm and 1am on weekdays. 

Weekend 1 – Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April 

  • To and from the city:  
    • Express services will run between Central Station and Olympic Park every 15 minutes from 9am to 8.30pm, stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park. These express trains leave from the country platforms at Central Grand Concourse.  
    • Return services will leave Olympic Park every 10 minutes from 8.30pm to 11pm, then at 11.36pm and last service at midnight. 
  • To and from the west and south:  
    • Trains run regularly to Lidcombe Station where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct service to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes in both directions until midnight.  
    • From 2pm to 10pm limited-stop trains will run between Olympic Park and Blacktown every 30 minutes, stopping at Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville, Auburn, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. The last express return service to Blacktown will leave Olympic Park at 10:24pm. 
  • Blue Mountains Line: most services between 5.30am and 10.30pm on Saturday and Sunday will make an additional stop at Lidcombe. Some trains in the morning and evening will be increased to 8 carriages. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle: Some trains in the morning and evening on Saturday and Sunday will be increased to 8 carriages. Services to Wyong (leaving Strathfield at 7pm and 8pm) will extend to Newcastle Interchange.  
  • South Coast Line: Some trains in the morning and evening on Saturday and Sunday will be increased to 8 carriages. 

Weekend 2 – Easter Long Weekend – Friday 18 to Monday 21 April 

  • To and from the city:  
    • Express services will run between Central Station and Olympic Park every 10 minutes from 8.30am until 2pm, then every 7-8 minutes until 8:30pm, stopping at Redfern, Strathfield then Olympic Park. These express trains leave from the country platforms at Central Grand Concourse.  
    • Return services will leave Olympic Park every 7-8 minutes until 11pm, then every 15 minutes until midnight, stopping at Strathfield, Redfern and Central Station. 
  • To and from the west and south:  
    • Trains run regularly to Lidcombe Station where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct service to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until 2pm, from 2pm until midnight trains depart from platform 1 at Lidcombe to Olympic Park.
    • From 2pm to midnight limited-stop trains will run between Olympic Park and Penrith every 30 minutes and Blacktown every 15 - 20 minutes, stopping at all stations to Seven Hills, Westmead, Parramatta, Granville, Auburn, Lidcombe then Olympic Park. The last express return service to the west will leave Olympic Park at 11.50pm. 
    • From Richmond, limited–stop services will run every 30 minutes from around 8am through til late, stopping all stations to Parramatta, Granville, Auburn, Lidcombe then Olympic Park.  
  • Blue Mountains Line: Services to and from Central between 6.30am and 10:30pm will make an additional stop at Lidcombe. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: 
    • An additional train will leave Newcastle Interchange at 7:15am, stopping at Broadmeadow, Cardiff, Fassifern, Morisset, Wyong, Tuggerah, Gosford, Woy Woy, Hornsby, Strathfield then Central. 
    • An additional service will leave Strathfield at 4.39pm, stopping at Hornsby, Woy Woy, Gosford, Tuggerah, Wyong, Morisset, Fassifern, Cardiff, Broadmeadow and Newcastle Interchange 
    • Services to Gosford leaving Strathfield at 7.01pm and 8.04pm (Central at 6.48pm and 7.51pm) will extend to Newcastle Interchange. 

Trackwork

Planned weekday and weekend trackwork will be taking place during the Easter Show and may affect how you travel to and from Olympic Park.

Friday 11 April - no trackwork

Saturday 12 and Sunday 13 April (weekend)

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: Metro services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. T4 trains run between Central and Sydenham.
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Bomaderry, Kiama and Wollongong.
  • Southern Highlands Line: Saturday from 4.40am to 4.50pm, buses replace trains between Campbelltown and Moss Vale.

Monday 14 to Wednesday 16 April (evening)

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: Metro services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. T4 trains run between Central and Sydenham.
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Wyong.

Wednesday 16 April (evening)

  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Ashfield.

Easter Long weekend - Friday 18 to Monday 21 April

  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Waterfall and Sutherland and between Central and Bondi Junction.
  • South Coast Line: Buses replace trains between Dapto and Waterfall.

Tuesday 22 and Wednesday 23 April (evening)

  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Gosford.

Tuesday 22 April (morning)

  • T2 Leppington & Inner West Line and T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Leppington and Liverpool.

Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will run on all nine routes each day of the Easter Show from the early morning until late at night. Buses run from the Northern Beaches, Inner West, Sutherland Shire, North Western Suburbs, Hills District and Southern Suburbs to Olympic Park and return from 11 to 22 April 2025. 

Travel on Major Event Buses is included in your ticket to the Easter Show. Simply show your event ticket to the bus driver when boarding buses. 

  • Sydney Olympic Park Major Event Buses will run each day of the Easter Show from early morning until around 3pm. 
  • Buses will run every 10 to 20 minutes each day, timetables vary on weekdays and weekends. Note: timetables vary depending on the route see detailed timings below, use the Trip Planner for up to date timetable information. 
  • Return buses leaving Olympic Park will run from 2pm until 10.30pm on weekdays and weekends. The last bus on each route will leave at 10.30pm.
  • On Fri 11 April, buses will run to a slightly different timetable due to it being the last day before school holidays. Return buses leaving Olympic Park will start from 3pm. On Mon 14 April only buses will commence departing Olympic Park from 1pm.

Big crowds are expected over the Easter long weekend so, please allow extra travel time and be prepared to queue when boarding major event buses which will be in high demand. From Olympic Park

  • Return buses from Olympic Park will start leaving from 2pm on weekdays and weekends. The last bus on each route will leave at 10.30pm. 
  • Note on Friday 11 April only, buses will begin leaving Olympic Park at 3pm, and on Monday 14 April only, buses will begin departing Olympic Park from 1pm instead of 2pm.

Regular route buses

Bus services will run to a regular timetable during the Easter Show and a changed timetable over the Easter Long Weekend. Travel on buses is included in your ticket to the Easter Show. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

The following regular route services run to Sydney Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington. 
  • Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde. 

Not all services run late on weeknight or weekends so make sure to plan ahead.

Bus diversions

From 5am Friday 11 April to 1am Wednesday 23 April buses in Olympic Park will be using different stops and routes while roads are closed in the precinct for the Sydney Royal Easter Show.  

Stops on Park St at Olympic Park Station and on Dawn Fraser Ave will be closed. 

  • Routes 525, 526, 533 and N81 will use alternative stops on Edwin Flack Ave and a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Ave at Park St near the train station (Stop ID 212799). 
  • On Friday 11 April only, school service routes Routes 665s, 760s and 761s will use a temporary stop on Dawn Fraser Ave at Park St near the train station (Stop ID 212799).

Check signs at stops for alternative stop locations and allow extra travel time to walk to the alternative stops.

The closest wharf to the precinct is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf which is around a 40 minute walk (3.6km). There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue. Travel on ferries is included in your ticket to the Easter Show.

Sydney Ferries will run to a regular timetable during the Show but are very popular and may reach capacity especially on weekends, public holidays and when there are multiple events being held in the precinct.

Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 6am to 11pm daily, and until midnight on Friday. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Change at Central for express trains to Olympic Park. Travel on light rail is included in your ticket to the Easter Show.

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Change at Central for express trains to Olympic Park. Travel on light rail is included in your ticket to the Easter Show.

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.  

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Taxis are available on Herb Elliott Ave near Australia Ave until 5pm and then on Murray Rose Ave (near the Coca-Cola Carnival gate) from 5pm to 11pm.

An accessible drop off and pick up zone will be located on Dawn Fraser Avenue between Edwin Flack Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, access via Edwin Flack Avenue.

If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct during the Show, particularly on the long weekend.

There is no designated rideshare pick up location in the precinct. Demand for rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed and consider catching a train or bus outside of the precinct instead to catch rideshare.

If you’re driving to the Show, travel with your group and allow plenty of extra time on the roads as traffic will be heavier than usual approaching Sydney Olympic Park, particularly over the Easter Long Weekend.  

Heavy traffic is expected on the M4 Mwy, Homebush Bay Dr, Concord Rd, Silverwater Rd, Centenary Drive, Lane Cove Rd and Epping Rd.

  • Showground Road from Murray Rose Avenue to Grand Parade.

Friday 11 April to Tuesday 22 April 2025 inclusive:

  • Marjorie Jackson Parkway from Wentworth Common Carpark to Australia Avenue (Checkpoint, authorised vehicles only).  
  • No right turn available onto Holker Bus way from Marjorie Jackson Parkway.  
  • No left turn available from Holker Busway onto Marjorie Jackson Parkway.

Olympic Park car parks

If you must drive, it’s essential that you pre-book parking online in advance. All car parks in Olympic Park are likely to sell out each day of the Show, particularly on weekends so get in early and secure your parking space now., available until 11:59pm the night before your visit, unless sold out prior.

The closest car park to the Showground and Show entry is P1 car park. Note P5 and P6 car parks are closed during the Easter Show. 

Car Park shuttle buses will be running between Dawn Fraser Avenue (near the rail station) and P3 and P4 car parks, in a limited and reduced capacity, with priority given to patrons with a disability, parents with prams and the elderly.

If you have pre-booked follow directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. 

If you haven’t pre-booked and parking is sold out for the day you are attending you will need to catch public transport. 

Consider parking at a nearby station commuter car park and continuing your trip by train or bus to Olympic Park, at no extra cost. 

Train station commuter parking

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Olympic Park.

Stations with large car parks on the western line where you can change for a frequent direct train to Olympic Park include:

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Schofields, Blacktown, Rooty Hill, St Marys and Penrith.

Stations with large car parks on other train lines that require one interchange by train to get to Olympic Park include:

  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West 
  • T2 Airport, Inner West & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2025 Sydney Royal Easter Show include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Accessible trips are shown in the Trip Planner with the wheelchair icon. You can select "accessible services only" in the Options to ensure you only see accessible services. Only trip plans with accessible train platforms, ferry wharves and buses will be presented.

Parking

There are approximately 400 accessible car spaces at Sydney Olympic Park. Make sure you display a valid accessible permit when parking in an accessible space on the day.

An accessible drop off and pick up zone is on Dawn Fraser Avenue between Edwin Flack Avenue and Olympic Boulevard, access via Edwin Flack Avenue.
