Get an Opal card
Opal is the ticketing system used on public transport in Sydney, the Blue Mountains, Central Coast, the Hunter and the Illawarra.
You can travel on the Opal network by tapping on and tapping off with an Opal card, or with a contactless credit or debit card for most fare types. To pay concession fares with your credit or debit card, you must create a Transport Connect account and link your entitlement before you travel. Find out more
