Important Travel Advice

Ticketholders urged to plan their trip and consider catching public transport to avoid weeknight peak traffic delays. 

Public transport is the best way to get to the SCG with frequent light rail and buses running to Moore Park.  

Travel on all modes of transport is included in your match ticket, simply show your ticket to transport staff when boarding services. 

Trains and Metro services run regularly to the city where you can connect with frequent light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park light rail stop is located a short walk across from the SCG. Plenty of regular route buses also make stops along Anzac Parade and Oxford Street nearby. 

Make a night of it and arrive early, there's plenty of local venues to enjoy pre and post match. Consider walking from Central to Moore Park via Devonshire or Foveaux Streets if queues for transport are long. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

If you need to drive or are catching rideshare/taxis, plan to arrive earlier than usual, carpool with your group and allow plenty of extra travel time as heavy traffic is expected, particularly during the busy evening peak. Visit livetraffic.com for real-time traffic updates.

Parking is available near the SCG at the Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park, EP3 grass car park on Driver Avenue, and Sydney Boys & Girls High School car park off Cleveland Street. A flat rate event parking fee will apply. 

Match ticket entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to 2025/2026 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League finals matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground includes travel to and from Moore Park on the following transport services, just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

  • Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
  • Sydney Metro services
  • Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan bus services 
  • Sydney Light Rail services
  • Sydney Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services. 

Tickets to the 2025/2026 Sydney Sixers Big Bash League matches at the Sydney Cricket Ground include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. 

Evening Trackwork – Monday 15 to Wednesday 17 December 

  • From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. 
  • Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham.    
  • For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. 
  • The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42. 
  • The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 21:00, Martin Place at 21:49, arriving Sydenham at 21:58. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central, catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street. Alternatively, consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

From Bondi Junction, catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford Street to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Wednesday 17 December on the following lines and may affect how you travel to and from the event. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line: From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Central and Sydenham. Services run between Tallawong and Martin Place, and between Martin Place and Central only. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong or Central, or T4 trains to Sydenham. For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern. The last metro service leaves Sydenham at 21:44, Martin Place at 21:53, arriving Tallawong at 22:42. The last metro service to Sydenham leaves Tallawong at 21:00, Martin Place at 21:49, arriving Sydenham at 21:58 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.50pm to 2.30am, buses replace trains between Sutherland and Hurstville. Trains run between Waterfall or Cronulla and Sutherland and between Hurstville and Bondi Junction. South Coast Line trains continue to run between Sutherland and Hurstville. Metro services do not run between Sydenham and Central. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: From 11.50pm to 1.30am, some trains run to a changed timetable between Richmond or Leppington and Olympic Park only. Some trains start and end at Granville. You may need to change trains at Granville to continue your journey. 
  • Hunter Line: From 8am to 1pm, buses replace trains between Newcastle Interchange and Telarah or Muswellbrook. The 08:29 Newcastle Interchange to Dungog will not run. Catch the 08:48 Newcastle Interchange to Telarah train and change at Maitland for a bus towards Dungog. Buses also replace the 10:02 Dungog to Newcastle Interchange service. 
  • South Coast Line: From 11pm to 2.30am, trains may run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Sutherland and Hurstville. From 9.50pm, metro services do not run between Sydenham and Central. Change at Martin Place for metro services towards Tallawong. 

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.   

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking route map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Additional light rail services will run before and after the game. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. Consider using alternative transport between Central Station and Moore Park, including walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) or regular bus services, as light rail services will be very busy. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time as traffic will already be heavy during the busy evening peak. Parking on-site at Moore Park is expected to reach capacity quickly so consider the alternative parking option outside of the precinct and continue your trip by light rail or bus. 

Changed traffic conditions

  • Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium from 3.45pm and will reopen once crowds have safely cleared the area.
  • No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Road. EP2 Kippax Park car park will not be open for this match.

The closest taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard (near the Hordern Pavilion).  

If you’re using rideshare to get to the game, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop off locations.  

After the match, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick up locations due to heavy traffic in the area. Select a pick-up location away from the stadium.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space. 

  • Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
  • Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 4.15pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
  • Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 4.15pm. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG. 

Please note that Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park will not open for this match

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 3pm to midnight on sections of Albion Street and Lang Road, and from 6am to midnight on Cleveland Street and Fitzroy Street.  

From 6am to midnight 

  • Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
  • Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 
  • Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 

From 3pm to midnight 

  • Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
  • Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side) 

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
