Match ticket entitlements

Valid pre-purchased tickets to the International Test Cricket match on Sunday 4 to Thursday 8 January (inclusive) at the Sydney Cricket Ground includes travel on the following transport services – just show your event ticket to transport staff when boarding:

• Sydney Trains and NSW TrainLink Intercity services (non-booked services bounded by Bomaderry, Goulburn, Bathurst, Scone and Dungog stations)
• Sydney metropolitan and outer metropolitan buses
• Sydney Metro services
• Sydney and Newcastle Light Rail services
• Sydney and Newcastle Ferries

Remember to keep your event ticket safe for your return journey or you'll need to use your Opal card or contactless payment method, as you must have a valid ticket when travelling on public transport. Your match ticket is valid on the modes of public transport listed above until 4am the following day.

Note: an additional train station access fee applies for travel to or from Domestic and International Airport stations. The access fee is not covered by your event ticket travel entitlements.

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.

Tickets to the International Test Match include travel on transport and free Park&Ride parking. When leaving the car park use the intercom button at the exit gate to speak with the operator and show your event ticket.

If you use a Transport Connect account to access Park&Ride, the boom gate will automatically open as you leave the car park so you’ll need to request a refund in your account.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city. 

The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.

Change at Central to connect with light rail services towards Moore Park leaving from Chalmers St.

The closest stations to the SCG are Central and Bondi Junction.

From Central catch a light rail service to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.

Alternatively consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire St and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway. See the Moore Park walking map (pdf 677KB) to find your way. 

From Bondi Junction catch one of the many regular route buses from the Interchange to Oxford St to get within walking distance of the stadium.

Trackwork

Trackwork is taking place throughout the event and may affect how you travel Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. For the latest information, check trackwork and travel alerts or plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

A number of regular Sydney Buses service stops along Anzac Parade near the precinct, including routes 339, 373, 374 and 396. From Bondi Junction Interchange, catch routes 333, 352 or 440 to Oxford Street or catch route 355 buses to Lang Road to get within short walking distance of the stadium.   

After each match day, express shuttle buses will also run from Moore Park to Central to provide additional transport capacity for fans.

Keep in mind that buses and light rail services will be busy. Consider walking between Central and Moore Park via Devonshire Street and the Albert ‘Tibby’ Cotter Walkway to minimise wait times for transport services. See the Moore Park walking map (pdf 677KB) to find your way.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

From Central, change for a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to Moore Park leaving from Chalmers Street.   

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Catch L2 or L3 light rail services to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south of the Sydney Cricket Ground. 

Additional light rail services will run before and after the match each day. Queues are expected, so be patient and allow plenty of extra time, particularly when leaving the stadium. Consider using alternative transport between Central Station and Moore Park, including walking if able to (approximately 25-minutes) or regular bus services, as light rail services will be very busy. L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Central from Parramatta Station. From Central, catch a L2 or L3 Line service to Moore Park. The Moore Park stop is located along Anzac Parade just south o the Sydney Cricket Ground.

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

With a sold out crowd of 45,000 expected each day, fans are urged to leave the car at home and catch transport to avoid traffic delays. Travel on transport is included in match tickets.

Parking at Moore Park is very limited and is expected to fill early in the morning each day of the Test Match.

If you have to drive, carpool with your group and allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavy as fans travel to and from the match each day, particularly during weekday peak travel times.

Road closures

• Driver Avenue will be partially closed outside the stadium each day from 6.30am. It will reopen daily when crowds have left the area and safe to do so. 
• No through-traffic will be available on Driver Avenue, however access to EP2 Kippax car park will be maintained via Moore Park Road and access to EP3 grass car park and drop-off areas maintained from Lang Road.

The closest taxi rank is located on Errol Flynn Boulevard (near the Hordern Pavilion).

If you’re using rideshare to get to the match, use Errol Flynn Boulevard or Driver Avenue for drop-off locations. At the end of play each day, roads in the immediate area of the stadium are expected to be busy so consider a pick-up location outside of the precinct.

Also note that after play each day, there may be restrictions on rideshare pick-up locations due to heavy traffic in the area.

Moore Park Car Parks

Parking will be in high demand and will fill quickly. Carpool with your group and aim to arrive early to secure a parking space. 

• Entertainment Quarter Wilson car park: Open 24 hours. Flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Errol Flynn Boulevard from Lang Road. 
• Kippax Park (EP2) grass car park* (limited capacity due to upgrade works): Open from 7.30am all days except Tuesday 7 January. Entry via the northern end of Driver Ave from Moore Park Road. 
• Showground Field (EP3) grass car park: Open from 7.30am. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry on Driver Avenue via Lang Road. 
• Sydney Boys High School and Sydney Girls High School: Car Park open from around 7.30am. Cashless, flat rate event parking fees apply. Entry via Cleveland Street. Use the Anzac Parade pedestrian bridge to get to and from the SCG.

Special Event Clearways

Special event clearways will be in place on roads in Moore Park and surrounding areas from 6am to 7pm daily on sections of Albion Street, Fitzroy Street, Lang Road, Moore Park Road and on Cleveland Street.  

From 6am to 7pm daily 

• Cleveland Street between South Dowling Street and City Road (southern side) 
• Cleveland Street between Abercrombie Street and South Dowling Street (northern side) 
• Albion Street between Bourke Street and Flinders Street (both sides) 
• Fitzroy Street between South Dowling Street and Bourke Street (northern side) 
• Lang Road between Anzac Parade and Errol Flynn Boulevard (northern side) 
• Moore Park Road between Flinders Street and Greens Road (northern side) 

*Note: Albion Street, Fitzroy Street and Moore Park Road clearways in effect from 7am on Sunday 4 January

Clearways are strict no-parking zones for all vehicle types and apply even to local residents and TfNSW Mobility Scheme Permit holders. Check signs carefully as vehicles left in clearways will be towed and a fee applies. If your vehicle is towed, you can search your vehicle registration at the Find My Car website to find its new location, or alternatively call 132 701 to speak to an operator.
