Important Event Information
With large crowds expected, ticketholders are encouraged to plan ahead and consider the public transport options.
- The best way to get to the event is by public transport. Plenty of public transport services run to the city and make stops within close walking distance of The Domain Sydney.
- Weekend Trackwork: From 10pm Friday, Trains do not run on the City Circle or between Central and Wynyard - you will need to change trains to continue your trip. On the weekend, Metro services will not run along the entire line between Tallawong and Sydenham due to planned maintenance. Buses replace Metro services between Tallawong and Chatswood only, use trains for travel between Epping/Chatswood and the city. Plan ahead, use other transport modes where possible and allow extra travel time. See the trackwork news page for more details.
- You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.
- If you are planning on driving or catching rideshare and taxis, allow extra travel time as traffic will be heavier than usual in the area.
- Roads around The Domain Sydney may close for crowd safety before, during and after the event. Motorists should avoid driving through the area at the end of the event and consider alternative routes. For real-time updates on traffic conditions visit livetraffic.com.
Opal
You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.
Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.
More ways to pay
If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.
Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Sydney’s north-west and south-west via the city.
The M1 Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late.
If you’re attending Friday’s concert, alight at Gadigal or Martin Place to get within close walking distance of The Domain Sydney.
If you’re attending Saturday's concert, Metro services will not run due to planned maintenance. Plan ahead and use other transport modes.
Planned Trackwork – Saturday 24 and Sunday 25 January
- Metro services will not run on the entire line between Tallawong and Sydenham. Testing is underway for Southwest Metro.
- Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.
- For travel to and from Waterloo use local buses or trains from Redfern.
- Trackwork also affects trains in the City. For travel between Epping or Chatswood and Sydenham use:
- T9 trains between Epping and Central or T1 trains between Chatswood and Wynyard
- L2 or L3 light rail services between Wynyard and Central
- T4 trains between Martin Place and Sydenham

- City Circle: From 10pm Friday, trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the City use T4 trains, light rail or local buses. L2 and L3 light rail services run between Central and Circular Quay. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines.
- T1 North Shore Line: From 10.20pm Friday, trains run between Berowra and Wynyard only, to a changed timetable. Trains do not run between Wynyard and Central, or on the City Circle. Change at Wynyard for light rail or local buses to continue your journey.
- T1 Western Line: From 10.20pm, trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Penrith and Central, platforms 1-14 only.
- T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: From 9.50pm, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and Ashfield via Granville or Regents Park. Change at Strathfield for express trains to Central, or buses if you are travelling to stations between Summer Hill and Macdonaldtown. Remain on the train for Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield. The last Inner West train leaves Central at 22:10, arriving Ashfield at 22:27.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: From 9.50pm, buses replace Inner West trains between Ashfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and Ashfield via Granville or Regents Park. Change at Strathfield for express trains to Central, or buses if you are travelling to stations between Summer Hill and Macdonaldtown. Remain on the train for Burwood, Croydon or Ashfield.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: From 9.40pm, some trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- T8 Airport & South Line: From 10pm, trains via the Airport start and end at Central. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. T4 trains run between Sydenham and Bondi Junction, making extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville.
- T9 Northern Line: From 10.30pm, trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-14 only.
Saturday 24 January
- City Circle: Trains do not run on the City Circle, or between Central and Wynyard. For travel around the City use T4 trains, light rail or local buses. L2 and L3 light rail services run between Central and Circular Quay. Trackwork also affects trains on other lines. Sydney Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only.

Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville, and Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains run between Strathfield and Central. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park only. Change at Cabramatta for buses to Canley Vale, Fairfield, Yennora, Guildford and Merrylands; or change at Lidcombe for trains towards Central or T1 Western Line stations. Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T3 Liverpool & Inner West Line: Buses replace Inner West trains between Strathfield and Central. Express trains continue to run. Trains run to a changed timetable between Leppington and Lidcombe only. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards Central or T1 Western Line stations. Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: All Cronulla and some Waterfall trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Extra trains run between Hurstville and Bondi Junction. Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may affect how you travel.
- T5 Cumberland Line - Buses replace trains between Cabramatta and Granville. Trains run to a changed timetable and stopping pattern between Leppington and Lidcombe via Regents Park, and between Schofields and Olympic Park. Change at Lidcombe for trains towards Schofields or Leppington; or change at Cabramatta or Granville for buses to Canley Vale, Fairfield, Yennora, Guildford or Merrylands.
- T6 Lidcombe & Bankstown Line: Trains run to a changed timetable and reduced frequency, every 30 minutes.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Most trains run to a changed timetable between Macarthur and Sydenham, or between Revesby and Central via the Airport. Change at Revesby for trains to Central via the Airport; or change at Sydenham for T4 trains towards Bondi Junction. Early morning and late-night trains run between Macarthur and Central via the Airport. T8 trains do not run between Sydenham and the City. Some T4 trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may affect how you travel.
- T9 Northern Line: Trains run to a changed timetable between Hornsby and Central, platforms 1-14 only. Until 8am, T9 trains run to a reduced frequency, every 30 minutes. Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may also affect how you travel.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may affect how you travel. Metro services do not run between Tallawong and Sydenham. Buses replace services between Tallawong and Chatswood only. For travel to T1 North Shore Line stations change at Hornsby, not Epping. Trains do not run between Central and Wynyard, or on the City Circle. For travel in the City use T4 trains, light rail or local buses.
- South Coast Line: Sydney Metro and City Circle train trackwork may affect how you travel. Metro services do not run between Sydenham and Tallawong. Trains do not run on the City Circle or between Central and Wynyard. Change at Central or Town Hall for light rail or local buses to City stations. From 7.30am to 11.30am, at Waterfall and Helensburgh, all trains leave from platform 1. From 12pm to 4pm, at Helensburgh and Waterfall, all trains leave from platform 2

L1 Dulwich Hill Line
L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner to plan your trip.
From Central, connect with metro services to Gadigal or Martin Place to get within walking distance of the event, or connect with a light rail service on the L2 or L3 Line to QVB or Town Hall to get within walking distance of The Domain Sydney.
L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines
L2 Randwick Line light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford Line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using the Trip Planner.
The closest stops to The Domain Sydney are QVB and Town Hall on the L2 and L3 lines, which are both within walking distance.
Please note that from 10pm Friday, train trackwork on the City Circle and T1 North Shore Line may affect how you travel. If you are travelling home from Friday’s concert or attending Saturday’s concert, plan ahead and allow extra travel time.
From 7am to 7pm on Saturday, extra L2 and L3 light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick or Juniors Kingsford.
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line
L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.
Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service to Town Hall or St James stations.
Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Travel by car is not recommended as traffic will be heavy and there are limited car spaces available (note that parking fees typically apply). If you must drive, allow extra travel time as traffic may be heavier than usual in the area. If you are driving, arrive early to secure a parking spot.
If you are catching rideshare or taxis, use the dedicated drop-off location on Hospital Road at Art Gallery Road. For pick-ups after the event head towards Elizabeth Street or Sir John Young Crescent.
