Greenwich Point Wharf upgrade

From Friday 13 December, ferry services from Greenwich Point Wharf, including the F8 ferry and Captain Cook Cruise services, will resume once wharf upgrades have been completed.

The Greenwich Point Wharf upgrade is part of the Safe Accessible Transport program to make public transport safe, inclusive and easy to use for all passengers, especially people with disability, older people, people with prams or luggage and people with limited mobility.

New features

Most of the new and upgraded accessibility features are complete and will be available to ferry passengers and other wharf users, including:

  • jetty and covered pontoon
  • gangway connecting to the jetty
  • covered waiting area, passenger seating and weather protection
  • bicycle hoops
  • lighting and security.

New lift opening in early 2025

All construction activities will be complete in December, however, power is not scheduled to be connected to the new lift until early 2025.

We are working closely with Ausgrid to facilitate the transfer of power from the old to the upgraded infrastructure, as quickly as possible. We look forward to opening the lift and completing the upgrade as soon as this takes place.

For those with accessibility needs, the existing ramp to the wharf via Lower Serpentine Road, will be reopened and available to the public when ferry services resume on Friday 13 December.

We apologise for any inconvenience caused and will keep the community updated once the lift is open to the public.
