As of Sunday 5 January 2020, the T6 Carlingford Line has closed to support construction of the Parramatta Light Rail project. A new bus route, route 535 keeps customers moving between Carlingford and Parramatta running every 15 minutes and more frequently during peak periods, making stops at Carlingford, Telopea, Dundas, Rydalmere, Camelia, Rosehill and Parramatta. Summer Holiday timetable
During the summer holidays including Christmas and New Year, transport services including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail will run to a changed timetable. Some services will run to weekend timetables on weekdays and other services, including those to major events, beaches and shopping centres, will run more frequently. Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.
Metro services start from the early morning running every 10 minutes until late. Change at Epping to connect with trains services towards Granville to connect with buses to Rosehill.

The new bus route 535 keeps customers moving between Carlingford and Parramatta running every 15 minutes and more frequently during peak periods, making stops at Carlingford, Telopea, Dundas, Rydalmere, Camelia/Rosehill and Parramatta. A standard train fare applies. Customers will need to catch a train or bus for connections to and from Clyde.
The best station for connections to Rosehill Gardens is Parramatta, Granville or Strathfield station where you can change for buses to get to and from the racecourse. Attendees are advised that buses are replacing trains on the T1 Western Line between St Marys, Richmond and Granville for weekend trackwork and will affect how you travel to and from the following stations.
- From Parramatta, change for a route 535 leaving from Valentine St or the free Races shuttle buses leaving from Smith St.
- From Granville, rail replacement buses will run a shuttle service between Granville Station (Bridge St, Stand D) and Rosehill Gardens every 20 minutes from 11.15am until around 8pm.
- From Strathfield, free Races shuttle buses leave from Everton Rd in Strathfield
Trackwork is taking place from 02:00 Saturday 18 January until 02:00 Monday 20 January which may affect how you travel to and from the event:
- T1 Western Line: Buses replace trains between St Marys, Richmond and Granville. On Sunday from 4.30pm, trains run between Parramatta and the City.
- T5 Cumberland Line: Buses replace trains between Richmond and Granville.
- T8 Airport & South Line: Nightly from 22:00 until 02:00 buses replace trains between Glenfield and East Hills
- Blue Mountains Line: Buses replace trains between Penrith and Central.
- Central Coast & Newcastle Line: Most trains start and end at North Sydney.
Trackwork is carried out on an ongoing basis to maintain the safety, reliability, and efficiency of the Sydney Trains network. A free shuttle bus (marked Races) will run from:
- From Parramatta to Rosehill Gardens: services leave from Smith St (across from Arthur Phillip High School) near Parramatta Station via Parramatta Wharf every 30 minutes from 11am until 2pm. Buses will meet each Ferry at Parramatta Wharf hourly.
- From Strathfield to Rosehill Gardens: services leave from Stand A, Everton Rd at Strathfield Station hourly from 11am until 2pm.
Return services back to Parramatta Station via Parramatta Wharf leave from the Rosehill Gardens P3 car park bus stop on James Ruse Drive every 30 minutes from 4pm until 6:30pm, and back to Strathfield Station every 30 minutes from 4:30pm until 6:30pm.
Regular route buses

The closest ferry wharf to the racecourse is Parramatta. You can change for a free shuttle bus marked 'Races' to the racecourse that will run to meet each ferry.
Sydney Ferries services are very popular and may reach capacity, especially on weekends. Keep this in mind if you’re planning on catching an F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip ahead and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available.

L1 Dulwich Hill light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill. The new L2 Randwick Line services run between Central Station (Chalmers Street) and Randwick. Services run frequently on weekdays and weekends.
From Central change for a Western Line train to Granville to connect with rail replacement shuttle buses to the racecourse.
The widened M4 between Parramatta and Homebush and the new M4 Tunnels between Homebush and Haberfield allows motorists to bypass more than 50 sets of traffic lights on Parramatta Road. A distance-based toll applies. For details on the M4 upgrades, visit westconnex.com.au.

Drop off: taxis enter Rosehill Gardens Racecourse through the Grand Avenue gates but are not permitted to stop on James Ruse Drive or Grand Avenue.
Pick up: taxis are located on Oak Street over the Equine Bridge located at the Might and Power entry.
