Important Travel Advice

Olympic Park will be busy on Saturday and Sunday with thousands of people also attending AFC Women’s Asian Cup matches at Stadium Australia next door. 

Linkin Park fans are encouraged to plan their trip and consider the public transport options ahead of time.  

Trains run regularly to Olympic Park from Lidcombe and the venue is a short walk from the station. Additional express and limited stop trains will also be running for the AFC Cup games that fans can take advantage of. See the Olympic Park transport map (pdf 778KB) to find your way

You'll need to use an Opal card or contactless payment card/device when travelling on public transport to and from the event. Register your details online at Opal or via the Opal Travel app ahead of time.

Parking will sell out in advance, so if you need to drive it is essential that you pre-book parking to guarantee a car space. - available until 11:59pm the night before the event. An event flat rate $35 parking fee will apply. 

Traffic may be heavier than usual on roads approaching the precinct as attendees travel to and from the show. Allow plenty of extra travel time on roads and plan your trip before leaving home. You can find real-time updates on traffic conditions at livetraffic.com

Opal

You can use an Opal card for all modes of public transport in Sydney and surrounding regions, including metro, trains, buses, ferries and light rail.

Remember to top up your Opal card before you travel to avoid waiting in line at top-up machines. You can top up your card online or at an Opal retailer.

More ways to pay

If you have a contactless-enabled American Express, Mastercard or Visa debit or credit card, or a linked device, you can use it to pay for your travel by tapping on and tapping off at Opal card readers. Available on all public transport, contactless payments are another way to pay on the Opal network. Adult Opal fare pricing applies and you will receive Opal benefits, including daily and weekly fare caps.

Sydney Metro services are high-frequency, driverless trains running between Tallawong Station and Chatswood Station.

The M1 Metro North West & Bankstown Line operates turn up-and-go Metro services between Tallawong, Chatswood and Sydenham from early morning until late. 

Change at Epping or Central for trains towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park.

The closest station to Qudos Bank Arena is Olympic Park.  

Trains run regularly to Lidcombe where you can head to Platform Zero for a direct train to Olympic Park, running every 10 minutes until 12.30am.   

Additional express and limited stop trains will be operating over the weekend for the AFC Women’s Asian Cup games at Stadium Australia that fans can utilise to get to Qudos Bank Arena. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

Trackwork

Planned trackwork is taking place on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March throughout the event that may affect how you travel to and from Sydney Olympic Park. Plan ahead using the Trip Planner.

  • T1 Western Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 9am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown. From 9am to 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields. Trains run between Blacktown or Schofields and the City. 
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Buses replace trains between Cronulla and Sutherland. Trains run to a changed timetable between Waterfall, Sutherland and Bondi Junction. On Sunday from 5.40am to 8am, trains run between Waterfall and the City Circle, and between Central and Bondi Junction only. Change at Central or Town Hall for trains towards Bondi Junction. Trains make extra stops at St Peters and Erskineville. 
  • T5 Cumberland Line: On Sunday from 5.30am to 9am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Blacktown. From 9am to 11am, buses replace trains between Richmond and Schofields. Trains run between Blacktown or Schofields and Liverpool. 
  • T8 Airport & South Line: On Sunday from 5.40am to 8am, trains run to a changed timetable between Sydenham and the City Circle. Trains via the Airport run to the normal timetable. 
  • Central Coast & Newcastle Line: On Sunday from 3pm to 8pm, some trains run to a changed timetable due to trackwork between Hawkesbury River and Gosford. 
  • South Coast Line: On Sunday from 5.40am to 8am, trains run between South Coast Line stations and Central, platforms 1-14 only. Change at Central for trains towards Bondi Junction.

The following Sydney buses services run to Olympic Park:

  • Route 525 runs between Parramatta and Sydney Olympic Park via Newington.  
  • Route 526 runs between Strathfield and Rhodes Shopping Centre via Sydney Olympic Park precinct and wharf.  
  • Route 533 runs between Sydney Olympic Park and Chatswood via Rhodes & North Ryde.  

Bus Diversions

Route 525, 526 and 533 services will divert while and miss stops while road closures are in place in the precinct for the major AFC Women's Asian Cup matches. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

The closest wharf to Qudos Bank Arena is Sydney Olympic Park Wharf. There is a connecting 526 bus to the venue or alternatively it is approximately a 40-minute walk (3.6km) from the wharf.

F3 Parramatta River services run regularly to Olympic Park but services are popular and may reach capacity. Keep this in mind if you're planning on catching a F3 Parramatta River service. Plan your trip and allow plenty of extra travel time or consider the alternative public transport options available. 

Please note, F3 Parramatta River ferries between Parramatta and Rydalmere may be affected by low tide and replaced by buses, check for updates here.

L1 Dulwich Hill Line

L1 Dulwich Hill Line light rail services run between Central Station (Grand Concourse) and Dulwich Hill via Darling Harbour and the Inner West. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using the Trip Planner

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park.  

L2 Randwick and L3 Kingsford Lines

L2 Randwick light rail services run between Circular Quay and Randwick via Central Station (Chalmers Street) and L3 Kingsford line services run between Circular Quay and Juniors Kingsford via Central Station (Chalmers Street). Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily, plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Change at Central for trains to Lidcombe then Olympic Park. 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line 

L4 Westmead and Carlingford Line light rail services run between Carlingford and Westmead via Parramatta CBD. Services run regularly from 5am to 1am daily. Plan your trip using Trip Planner.

Alight at Parramatta Square and connect with a train service towards Lidcombe then Olympic Park from Parramatta Station.

Passengers are reminded that trams can’t stop quickly or easily – so please stop, listen and look around for trams and use designated pedestrian crossings.

Sydney Olympic Park will be very busy with thousands of people also attending AFC Women’s Asian Cup games next door on Saturday and Sunday. 

Attendees are urged to plan their trip and consider all the available travel options ahead of time. If you need to drive it is essential that you pre-book parking in advance. 

Travel with your group and allow extra travel time on the M4, Parramatta Road, Homebush Bay Drive and Concord Road. 

  • Pre-book your parking online ahead of time to secure a space – available until 11:59pm the night before the event unless sold out prior. 
  • If you have pre-booked follow directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. After the show, traffic will be very heavy as everyone leaves at the same time. Expect to allow up to an hour of additional travel time exiting car parks. 
  • If you haven't pre-booked parking do not drive to Olympic Park. You will need to catch public transport as there will be no parking available on-site. You can also consider parking at a nearby commuter car park and continuing your trip by train or bus to Olympic Park.

Road Closures

Major roads in Sydney Olympic Park will close to accommodate increased public transport services and ensure pedestrian safety during major events including AFC Women’s Asian Cup matches on Saturday 14 and Sunday 15 March. See the Sydney Olympic Park interactive map for more details.

If you're getting dropped off/picked up or catching rideshare and taxis:  

  • The nearest Taxi Rank is Herb Elliott Avenue near the Pullman Hotel. 
  • If you’re using taxis or rideshare, remember that roads will be closed within the precinct. Allow plenty of extra travel time due to the increased traffic expected in the precinct before and after the event. 
  • Demand for taxis and rideshare will be high and prices are likely to be surging. Avoid the traffic delays while roads are closed by considering catching a train or bus outside of the precinct to connect with your ride faster.  
  • An accessible pick-up and drop-off area will be located at the corner of Dawn Fraser Avenue and Edwin Flack Boulevard.

Olympic Park car parks  

Parking will be in high demand with thousands of fans also attending AFC Women’s Asian Cup games next door on Saturday and Sunday. 

If you need to drive it is essential that you pre-book parking online. Visit Sydney Olympic Park – Parking to secure your parking space ahead of the event available until 11.59pm the night before, unless sold out prior. A flat rate $35 parking fee will apply.  

If you have pre-booked a space, follow the directions of staff and have your parking ticket ready to show at the car park entry. Carpool with your group and allow plenty of additional travel time.  

Use Silverwater Road, Holker Street and Hill Road to get to your car park and avoid the heavy traffic congestion expected at the Homebush Bay Drive roundabout. Traffic delays are expected after the event as attendees leave the precinct. 

If you haven't pre-booked parking do not drive to Olympic Park. You will need to catch public transport as there will be no parking available on-site. You can also consider parking at a nearby commuter car park and continuing your trip by train or bus to Olympic Park. 

Train Station Commuter Parking  

A number of key train stations have large commuter car parks, so consider parking at a station near you then catching one of the extra trains to Olympic Park.  

Stations with large car parks on the western line where you can change for a frequent direct train to Olympic Park include:  

  • T1 Western Line: Seven Hills, Blacktown, Emu Plains, Rooty Hill, St Marys and Penrith.  

Stations with large car parks on other train lines that require one interchange by train to get to Olympic Park include:  

  • T1 North Shore & T9 Northern Line: Gordon, Thornleigh and Concord West.  
  • T2 Inner West & Leppington Line: Fairfield, Warwick Farm, Leppington and Edmonson Park.   
  • T4 Eastern Suburbs & Illawarra Line: Sutherland and Kogarah.  
  • T8 Airport & South Line: Padstow, Revesby, Glenfield, Holsworthy, Macarthur, Campbelltown and Leumeah.  

Transport Park&Ride Car Parks 

Park for free when you catch public transport. Transport Park&Ride provides up to 18 hours of free parking each day. All you have to do is complete a public transport trip. Located close to public transport hubs, Park&Ride car parks help you connect more easily to train, bus and ferry services.
